I wonder if they were pressured into it by insurance companies, were worried about the liability themselves, or the Feds pushed for it. I am all for it but definitely didn't come from Kenney.
They want to protect their profit margin, and can afford another empty stadium season. They will do everything in their power to make it so people can attend games. Another lock down ( which at this point seems inevitable) would be devastating.
Even if they lose customers, they will make more money than they would if they had a bunch of cases linked to the games.
Like I'm going to pay money to watch any of these teams.
I'm vaccinated. No problem. Still not happening.
When "you must be vaccinated to attend our games" turns into "you must attend our games if you're vaccinated --- give us $100 or we'll call you an antivaxxer!"

From what I understand, with that app, you link your account to your vaccination record and when you go to enter an event, the app displays your photo and an QR code that can be scanned at entry. The code is only valid for a limited time and will display your photo to the person doing the screening at the venue. Those measures are to prevent someone doing a screen grab of their own QR code and sharing it with their unvaccinated friends.
I believe the Clear app is only available in the US right now, but I'd expect something similar will be available in Canada -- either from Clear or the provincial/federal governments by mid-September. The federal government did announce they were working on something that could be used for travel purposes in the fall. Hopefully that will be able to be used wider.
Clear Me app is set up to also use Canadian ID.

There seems to be something about having to view it on a web browser before the latest info shows up in the app.
My June 21st shot wasn't visible on the app, but after I logged into the site on my computer it updated - and my 2nd dose is now visible on both the app and the site.
What app can I see the records on? I only thought it was available on the myhealth website.

There is an Alberta MyHealth app. I think it's just a packaged web app, but it works fine. After you are signed up just go to "Print Reports". Pick Vaccine for type of data and the correct date range (probably last 6 months).
You get a nice pdf with your name and vaccine history.
Of course my name is somehow wrong in the MyHealth app, and they don't know how to fix it, but that is my problem and hopefully a one off.

While this is something you can do, it's far from convenient or forge resistant. We need a provincial government that isn't spending every second of every day worknig against the populace. This is an easy, common sense thing to do, that everyone is getting on board with, and our government is run by a bunch of festering turds who won't help. So lucky us.
