It does seem there is a George W Bush sentiment on here though, you're either with us or against us.
Not everyone who is not getting the vaccine is anti-vax, some are just unsure and want to see how things play out.
I know quite a few people who don't have the vaccine and none are spouting anti-vax nonsense.
Just seems like an awful lot of judgement on here and jumping to conclusions, yes there are some on here that are misguided and others that provide over the top examples but I think we can all look through that and see their point without automatically labeling everyone anti-vax.
There has been enough change in the message that I can see why people have their doubts. Astra was acceptable, now it's not, you can sit down without a mask but you can't walk around, etc..
Just some food for thought and just for the record, I'm not anti-vax, but I am okay with questions being asked and people having doubts.

Nothing wrong with people asking questions, it gives an opportunity to get the truth out there.
The primary problem is that many vaccine hesitant people are not clear on the situation. Yes, the AZ vaccine is no longer used in Canada. But that's not due to safety issues, it's still orders of magnitude safer to get the AZ vaccine than it is to get COVID-19, it just isn't as effective in protecting against the delta strain, so it just makes more sense to use something that protects better against the current threat (and as an added bonus, seems to be less likely to have certain adverse effects).
Many people want to "wait and see", concerned about long-term effects. What they don't realize is that there is no such thing as "wait and see" in this situation. The only thing that is in mRNA vaccines that isn't naturally occurring in someone's body or that isn't found in most people's diets is the spike protein. One way or another, you're going to end up with the spike protein in your blood. If someone's vaccinated, they'll get it from the vaccine. If they're not, COVID-19 is ubiquitous enough that they will get COVID-19 (and some who are vaccinated will still get it, but it will be less severe than if they weren't). The difference is that with the vaccine, we have control over how much of the spike protein someone gets dosed with. If someone gets COVID-19, the amount of the spike protein they get depends on how much of it their infected cells produce before their immune system is able to adequately respond to it. The immune system's response to the virus and in particular the spike protein appears to be causing the inflammatory and clotting complications we have seen with the vaccine and with COVID-19 infections. It seems to me that someone is taking a bigger risk being exposed to an uncontrolled amount of the spike protein than they would being exposed to a fixed amount of it.
The misconceptions that fuel this hesitancy are the belief that one can have an adverse reaction to the vaccine that might not happen if they get COVID-19 and the belief that one's immune system is strong enough that they won't get COVID-19. There is nothing in the mRNA vaccines that someone would not have in their body naturally once they had been exposed to COVID-19, so there is no long-term adverse effect that can occur that would not be more likely to occur when someone is inevitably infected with COVID-19. If people just realized that getting COVID-19 is inevitable for the non-immunized and that the disease itself causes all the same adverse events as the vaccine (just at a much higher incidence), some might be less hesitant.

CSEC is now fully onboard with requiring full vaccination for workers and fans.

At least our sports teams are showing some leadership and have the guts to do the right thing, unlike the provincial government.

Its about $$, its not about the hospital system or leadership. The majority of people who are vaccinated are demanding this, so its a good business decision, not "leadership".

Great news no doubt.
But with the current alarming rate of breakthrough delta cases, and the inevitable numbers of unvaccinated folks that will make their way past the screening, I think our family is going to defer our season tickets for the first half of the regular season, assuming the Flames are still willing to do that.

Part of me was thinking they may have been waiting for some sort of government mandate, but am okay with it if they were pressured and didn't want to be the last one standing.

The leadership role the gov of Manitoba has shown is excellent. Provincial system already in place to allow private corporations to more easily manage this.
Bravo to them for true leadership

Perhaps some sort of partnership between the venues and the province could be reached where people can generate QR codes that or similar based on their Alberta MyHeatlh accounts (PS get an Alberta myhealth account immediately if you don't have one, you can immediately access your vaccination records/ any other lab test reports and results that you need.)
