Monahan won't be traded. Monahan won't be resigned. Monahan will leave the team as a UFA in 2023.
Flames will make no more notable trades or UFA signings except to sign Michael Stone to a two year deal the beginning of September.
For the next two years the Flames will finish as the second wild card team in the west, just making the playoffs by one point on shootout wins in the final games of the season. They will go into the playoffs chanting and shouting the mantra "All you have to do is get in to win!". They will get swept both years and the four losses will be by more than three goals every game.
2023 Treliving and Sutter will not have their contracts renewed. The organization will start another misguided attempt to rebuild on the fly with a new GM and head coach.
Such has been prophesied.

We should introduce you to the guy with the "Fun" scenario thread, you two would likely be great friends.

Your prophesy sucks! If you’re going to make a prophesy make it something good. Otherwise, you need to give a way out, like gathering all the infinity stones or something. Your scenario just creates apathy, even if it has a chance of being true

Am curious as to wtf is going regarding the player at this point, both from a surgery perspective (I've heard regardless of which procedures ultimately get done, he needs surgery before playing again) and from a trade perspective (agent seems pretty clear, that a trade out of Buffalo is the only desired outcome).
|
I think the risk is in the event he does get the surgery and things don't go well then he is completely untradeable or value is significantly reduced. That scenario my be unlikely, but there is only one Eichel and they have his rights. If he is traded before then it is completely on the team that acquires him and they would have gotten their perceived value for him.

I was kind wondering the same thing about Johnny and if he is waiting to see what kind of direction BT is going this off season. Otherwise, I think BT would of got him inked before July 31st.

I still think there are two or three deals on the table to address a variety of scenarios heading into the season. It would make sense that they are holding off until after Eichel is moved.

If Treliving somehow manages to get Eichel without losing Tkachuk, the Flames become a USA hockey all star team. Those guys like to stay together, so I'd think that an Eichel acquisition would improve the likelihood that Gaudreau and Tkachuk stay beyond the end of their current deals.

Yes, this makes sense. It does feel like there is a lot going on in the background being worked on right now and it's like we are waiting for the first domino to fall.

My prophesy is the Flames will trade their whole team to Buffalo for Eichel.
Eichel will win the next 10 stanley cups on his own wearing a halo to stabilize his broken neck.
Thowt shall be done.

Fox stays and the Flames somehow still get Hanifin and also the Flames make the trade for Eichel? Or win the lottery and choose Eichel over McDavid?

Thats a big leap but ok.
Could have had Mario. If only we kept Hull and traded for Gretzky. Brodeur & Giguere. What a team.
I do that right?

Ok, I forgot about the Fox and Hanifin deal were the same, but sounded like Fox was a sweetener that could’ve been replaced…
