Or Calgary. The guy has always wanted the big city lights, no amount of swedes on the team is going to change that IMO.

That tweet kind of feels like an Eichel trade is going to be a multi team swap.

Just the usage of the word "Ultimately" infers a longer travel path instead of a direct line from Buffalo to Manhattan.

Would help explain why it is taking so long and why rumors have been pretty diffuse.

He could endure us for a year if that’s the case.

Current contract $’s? Absolutely.

Free agent $’s he wants? He can absolutely walk.

But if the Sabres want him out west and not to a rival it would have to be a secret 3 team deal like the Doctor Jones trade wouldn’t it? I can’t see Buffalo being on board with a three way off the bat unless it resulted in some sort of bananas overpay to them from both teams.

I always see Rangers fans talk about his garbage tier reporting so just assume it's trash.

Starting to feel like we will hear "Eichel traded to the Rangers" sooner rather than later. Sucks, but predictable.

I have never heard this. Can you provide a source for that?

I can't believe it's almost mid-August and the Flames still have an un-extended Gaudreau, and un-extended and apparently disgruntled Tkachuk, and the only change to the core was forced upon them by the expansion draft which resulted in them losing their best overall Dman. And all they did to replace him was add a one dimensional defensive Dman.

Yeah, there are 44 days (I think) until main camp opens. Treliving has a whole lot of work to do over the next six weeks.

It's still (likely) too early to assess his off-season work, but nothing in the seven years of Tree has shown he's been able to make any sort of significant alterations in this stretch of the off-season. The Lucic/Neal deal is really the only one.

Six weeks to accomplish an awful lot.

Brad put himself into a comma overthinking his next move?

Negotiations are one thing and we know that takes patience and hurrying that is how you end up with oiler numbers but core changes are all but an expectation here.

We've been way too quiet on the trade front for a team that looked to have hit a wall with its current group.

Any century now boys.....

Also we need to lock down this Eichel trade to make all these loudmouths around NYR look stupid. They speak like a trade is already there in principle meanwhile Buffalo just says they're trading him west.

I think fans are just speculating based on the fact that MZ takes his DJ-ing pretty seriously and it is assumed he'd like to be a place with big clubs and celebrities.

Vegas actually makes a lot of sense as they are also looking for a centre.

NYR: Eichel
Vegas: MZ
Sabers: Futures and maybe Tuch or Smith for Buffalo to offload again for more futures

I definitely feel like Treliving is deep in these Eichel talks and wouldn’t even have a problem with being one of these teams that gets in on the veterans the Sabres would be getting and shopping in return.
