I'm not saying it isn't, but the other options are more expensive.

At least it's heroin beer. It gets you hammered twice as fast.

The ACC was $9.75. Each trip to the bar used up a 20. Freaking unbelievable.

Anyways...The coolest part of the Dome is looking at the stuff you can't see on TV. Check out the broadcast booth, other details of the building...I dunno, other than the hockey thats what I like about watching games live.

...Unless Im sitting in the Players' Wives Section

and with that in mind , remember TV timeouts at 6, 10 and 14 minutes of the period (next whistle). those are long enough for breaks, if you know what you are doing

Thanks - that is one of the most useful things I've ever read here.

Thanks for the other tips.

What about warmup? Can you go to lower sections? What time to show up to catch the warmup?
Warmup is about 35 to 30 minutes before the game. So on Saturday it will be 7:30. You can go down and watch. I do it quite a bit. Sometimes the people with the tickets to the seats show up. But you can just move over or up or down a row.

As for ATM's, I never show up with cash and allways use the ATM's at the Dome. If you come from the Stampede LRT station, and it isn't cold out, walk down the stairs to your right instead of going through the Round Up Center. There is an ATM outside in a little booth near the corral that will have nobody at it. Or if your in the Dome. Hit the ATM's at the east entrance on the left side of the Fanattic store. For some reason the ATM's on the rink side will have a 10 person line up. These ATM's that I mentioned will have no one or only one or two people in line.

As for food? It all sucks. Pocket Dogs are ok but the lineup is unreal. Unless you get there well before the game. Pizza is the smallest line, but it is very poor quality. The burgers will fill you up, but the line can be long as well.

If you want to hit Duttons. You will need to be there when the doors open. Or you will not get a table. If you want to hit the Whiskey, you will need to get there about an hour and a half before game time or you will not get a table. The platter at the Whiskey is decent and will fill two men up. The food at Duttons is pretty good, if your going to eat at the Dome I would suggest Duttons.

After the game Duttons is usually blocked off to Club Seats only, depends on how busy it is. If you want to stay and drink a beer or two and let the crowd and traffic disperse before you leave? Hit the Whiskey. I think you can hang out there for about an hour after the game. If it is cold, beware. They will not let you walk throught the concourse out to the west doors if you stay till last call. You will need to exit through the East doors. The Roundup Center will be closed as well.

If you want to buy something at the Fanattic, try to get somebody's season ticket card. You get 25% off of everthing but jersey's. The Jersey's are 10%.

1) Take the C-train.

2) Pocket Dog! They're amazing, and don't contain near as much salt as the burned pieces of "hamburger meat" that the burgers have.

3) Make lots of noise, and be prepared for 110+ decibles of pure fandom. Especially on weekend games.

4) Wear red.

Don't expect to hear a play-by-play guy at the game (that was the shock of my life when I went to my first Flames game... albeit I was only a kid!).

I admittedly just scanned this thread, but did we get 2 pages in without a mention of the nachos?
The nachos at the dome are fairly famous around town (at least with people I know) as being the best nacho cheese available anywhere. It is worth a try for sure. The pocket dogs also get great reviews so I would recommend a Small Nacho and a pocket dawg so you can try a little of both.
The pizza at BP's in the dome smells so good but is actually very average, don't get suckered in by the smell.
For dessert get a malt, 2nd intermission is when most people go, so if you want to avoid lines go in the 1st intermission.

Finally if you do a beer run, so to some of the non-traditional beer spots, like subway or the place that sells wraps (I have seen them sell one wrap all year, people go there solely for the short beer lines).

Other than that have fun.

I, myself, was getting worried that this had gone 2 pages without mention of the best food at the Dome - the Nachos!!!!

You can't go down on the Club side of the rink for warmup but you can generally go down behind the benches or in 103 - 105ish to the glass depending on the view you're looking for.

Don't forget to grab your 50/50 tickets - the pots are generally large and your odds are better at the Dome than they are at the 649.

Be sure to cheer loud, do the wave if they get one started and don't drink the heroin beer....the crap in the tubes they pump the beer thru is what #&%$s you up.

See you Saturday!

Jesus Christ, I can't believe you guys are recommending the Hot Dogs. If the guy next to me sits down with one of those and starts munching away I almost vomit from the smell.

Not even trying to be funny, I have to turn my head and breathe in from the other direction.

- Stand up for peope walking by in your row. Don't be lazy and just slide your legs to one side, that's how your beer gets kick over when I walk by.

Sounds easy, but lots of people have problems.
Three great tips. I've wished they were posted on the door on the way in.

I'll add two more:
- Follow the section signs in the concourse. They tell you which bowl entrance to use depending on what seat number you have thereby directing you to the nearest isle so you dont have to traverse across a whole row of seats.
- If you are into wearing huge hats, like say a massive cowboy hat, make sure to sit back in your seat (or wear a different hat). The hat can literally block 2/3rds of the ice view of the person immediately behind you. For that matter, sit back all the time.

Be prepared to be tripped if you leave during the game and I happen to miss something.

Do not, I repeat DO NOT get up at any time during game play unless you were hit with a puck. Vendors will come by with all that you need during the periods.
Also try the nachos with cheese, salsa and jalapanos (remeber in spanish the j is pronounced like an h - halapanos), the pocket dawgs and the malts.
Stay for the 3 stars after the game to say good job to the Flames after another home win.
Also hang out outside the dome and get autographs after the game. This can be a crap shoot but worth it if you can get some.

Best advice here, I did not know that. Is it just the ticket stub that you need for this discount?
