He's staying. Little guy was telling the truth all along.
Let's assume he stays.

Can he catch Iginla's 1095 points?

Come on. I've been told for years JG had a 10 year plan to end up in Philly!

Because..... All his childhood friends he hasn't seen since he was 16 are waiting to hang out with him

If it's an 8 year deal with no more short or canceled seasons I think he does.

Would have to average 75 points per season until he's 35. He's scored at a 0.95 PPG pace so far

I think it's possible

Two factors in play for this. Length of stay in Calgary and the talent the team surrounds him with. He definitely can do it if he plays his career here, stays healthy, and has good linemates.

Fingers crossed but I read it that way.

I'll be curious if he takes on more of a leadership role. Assuming he signs the biggest contract in Flames history, I'd like to see him taking on more responsibility that way.

If it happens, I hope they open the Q&A with Eric Francis.

Can't wait to see the egg on that #######'s face.

I’m confident an extension will be announced soon. A lot of posters here recently have wanted to find every reason to catastrophize everything and anything, but the underlying messages seem to be the team and Gaudreau wanting to move forward together.

I said the same thing a couple days ago. Unless Treliving is asleep at the switch, which I don't think he is, this should signal that a deal is close. No way he let's 26 teams drop out of the mix. The fact that Coleman referenced talking with Gaudreau and Calgary, and he signed, is another indicator Gaudreau is staying. They just have to surround Johnny with the right talent now.

Wonder what Buffalo is going to do with thier disgruntled $10 million broken neck player when a trade doesn’t happen.

Re: Eichel, doesn’t insurance cover the cost of his contract while he’s out? With the so called controversial surgery, wouldn’t insurance cover him too? Hence I don’t think Buffalo has to deal him. The only money lost would be gate revenue.

If you're refering to Bingos post, he's talking about a Gaudreau trade not happening

An Eichel trade is happening 100%, just a matter of time

Even when he's healthy, I think he's made it clear he'll never play for the Sabres again

CPs own Ryan Pike indicates that the Flames has enough cap space to add Eichel (likely with the trade out of a larger contract).
