That's how I was feeling reading the draft thread yesterday.
I couldn't believe what people were saying about the physical appearance of the panel or the mannerisms of one of the reporters.
Be better CP.

Oh please, Kaplan kept doing a particular motion while talking and it was kinda funny. Then she abruptly stopped and kept her hands below the camera line so the broadcast clearly recognized it too.
Weird thing to white knight over, IMO.

The Flames currently seem to be deadset upon picking 16th every year. That's a terrible place for a franchise to be.

What makes you think the Flames aren't aiming to be the best? They did the rebuild, they spend to the cap, they have pursued FA and trades, they have cut bait on players/coaches about as soon as reasonably possible.
What do they need to do to show that they are aiming for anything other than the best? The fact that they haven't achieved the upper echelon does not in any way prove that they are aiming for 16th.

You are changing the goal posts. You said it was clear on July 23.

That makes zero sense.
You are saying that if your team is likely not one of the best teams in the league you should go scotched earth rebuild every year.
And it’s pretty clear you have never considered the business side of owing a sports team.

We are fans. We don’t need to worry about the business side of a sports team. I don’t cheer for X playoff appearances in a decade. I cheer for the hope my team wins the big prize.

I didn’t say you had to worry about it.
But you have to consider the realities of it or you will spend your time banging your head against the wall.
Ignoring the realities gets you no where.

No one is ignoring the realities of it. It just doesn’t need to be a crutch whenever the rebuild conversation comes up.

Spectors hockey speculating that Vegas could be taking offers on Jonathan Marchessault and are also looking to flip Ryan Reaves as they look to balance their roster. Could their be a fit here with Monahan? Having two nuclear deterrents as options could prove to be valuable as the league opens back up and Reaves as the 13th fwd would fit that bill.
Marchessault + Reaves for Monahan?
We would have to go out and find some Center depth to shore up the middle no doubt. What does Vegas have to add to that for us giving up the better younger player and taking on Reaves?

Anyone that says this team should be in full tear down mode is 100% ignoring the realities. Teams don’t blow it up when they brought a veteran coach out of retirement. They don’t rebuild when they just invested in a top end goalie for half a decade. They don’t rebuild when their top players are in their 20’s. They don’t make the decision to rebuild when they had a fanless season playing against 6 teams for 56 games.
We can agree or disagree if they should rebuild and my personal opinion is they get one more year to take a step forward or it should be a full on reset top to bottom. The fact is with the economics of the world over the last 18 months and the economics of the city over the last few years there is no way ownership is coming out of the pandemic and tearing it down to suck town

You make it sound like they just won’t show up one day and the organization won’t know why and… it’s a foregone conclusion.
