Honestly he will do well on a line with 97, much like a lot of NHL skaters, but it doesn't really move the needle for the grease. I am starting to think Holland might not be very good.

They kind of have to do this ####. Everyone outbids them by arachides. I imagine it will be structured to be a palatable buyout. I almost feel bad for them, almost.

If Hyman wants to get the maximum total amount of money over the life of his contract, why would he want the buyout to be palatable? From the moment he gets bought out, he loses 1/3 of his remaining pay and another 1/3 is deferred.
I'd be saying, ‘Hell no, let's Lucic this deal so I get my money whatever happens.’

I think this is only fair.
Edmonton made the playoffs, so they deserve to get a high-profile UFA signings in Hyman.
Vancouver really needs D, and I really hope they somehow manage to land OEL.
Shucks.. that leave the Flames out of the running. Oh well, we can't win them all, right?

If they're offering 8 to keep the AAV down then it'll be 5.5 to 6, which will still be an slight overpay. If it's anything over that then it'll be an anchor.
He'll put up loads with McDavid and it'll appear as though it's a bargain. The Oilers media will make sure we don't hear the end of it. Then we'll point to how good McDavid made Kassian and Chiasson look.

This really feels like a Troy Brouwer type signing. Hopefully, the dividends pay off for Edmonton as quickly as they did for us with Troy.

With that kind of price tag I’d say it’s more like an Okposo/Clarkson signing. One of those deals where it’s clear right off the bat that it will be cursed.
