Plus, you forgot the question mark that should follow your first sentence.

Not exactly a grammar issue, but somewhat funny in a cute way. I had a Chinese client who pronounced the word "bonus" as "boners". Once I asked her if she could tell me more about her duties as a manager in China and she said " I was in charge of giving boners to factory workers."

Back on topic... If anyone is starting a list of writing pet peeves, here are a few of mine:

grammEr, calendEr, independAnt

Assuming you are using a recent version of Firefox, under Tools > Options > Advanced (General Tab) > Browsing - Check My Spelling as I Type should be checked.

Additionally, you can get a dictionary for Canadian English here

Also, I need to right-click in the field where I am typing and select "Spell check this field" in order for it to actually do the check.

Don't forget the egregious sentence fragment...I think that he/she is trying to make a point about horrible grammar though.

I couldn't care less if they could care less but at least they will know that they're an idiot.

Your statement is false, a way a person posts doesn't tell everything about them. This is a message board, not real life.

"Punctuation is a courtesy designed to help readers to understand a story without stumbling." By ignoring punctuation and proper grammar, you are being discourteous. You're right, it isn't real life. However by being discourteous to strangers, you're giving off a valuable first impression that cannot be retracted... and the first impression is that you're an idiot.

I should clarify. I'm not perfect either, but I try to ensure my posts are well thought out and readers can comprehend them. I don't expect perfection, I expect effort. It's not that difficult.

Perhaps, but if I need to reread a post 2 or 3 times just to figure out what a person is trying to say, then at some point I am going to give up; and and it won't matter how insightful that post may have been. Or the post may not say what the person posting it meant it to say.

There are lots of ways miscommunication happens when everything is done right. Why make things more difficult by being lazy?

If you are taking the time to post, why not take an extra few seconds and catch some of the more blatant errors? If it isn't worth your time to get your post right, why should it be worth my time to read?

Idiot is a very harsh word and should not be thrown around lightly. If someone was to call me an idiot I would want proof and then I would want them to back it up.

"P|_|/\/C+u4t10n iz 4 c0urt3sy |)3s1g/\/3d 2 h3lp r34d3rz 2 und3rst4nd A s+0ry \/\/1th0|_|t st|_|mb!1/\/g"

By changing the letters or how it is typed, does this make the quote any less true? Does it make it any less insightful? Is it still adding to the arguement? Then what is the big deal?

Think about it.
