Is it Groundhog Day again? My shadow has popped out. 6 more weeks of inanity
Read my phrasing carefully. I did not call him anything.
A challenge for you. Think it is possible to not respond to my post when you see one?

Plus in 2015 Tampa Bay was the only NHL team that voted to close this loop hole. So if anything blame the 29 other NHL teams at that time that didn't want to close this gap because they invited Tampa to do this.

They built a strong team over the years and should have had to dismantle some of it last offseason… just like other teams have had to do (like Chicago). Instead, they used kucherov’s surgery to keep the players and even add at the trade deadline. The depth of this team could have been gutted otherwise. And that depth played a big role in this team’s run to the cup (Gorde, Killorn, Johnson, etc.)
The simple fact is that they had a roster playing in the playoffs that was way, way over the cap and could not exist in any regular season game. Again, all within the rules as they are now. The rules need to be updated or better enforced in order to close these loopholes.

Like a bunch of other teams, including Montreal at the beginning of the POs (until they healthy scratched Tatar) including an iffy LTIR of Drouin. TBL was the most over, but others were as well.
What should they have done with Kucherov facing season long injury? Anticipate he would be recovered 2 weeks to 2 months earlier than scheduled and field a team that’s $9M under the cap all year? And then go without Stamkos for a lot of the season as well?

ETA: The above would have been not too hard for TBL to handle as a matter of fact.

Well yeah as that's real celebration and he was candid likely due to his filter being down. Not a lot different than Brett Hull all inebriated at the Blues cup parade. Either way it's getting a lot of play today in the sports world and that's a good thing for the NHL.

I’m more than ok with Kucherov. He was in full celebration mode.
I expect he will do a sort of mea culpa at some point.

As I said: it was within the rules - the rules need to change. I feel every team should have to have a roster that fits under the salary cap for any game - regular season and playoffs included.
If that was the case, Tampa would have had to trade some players before Kucherov came back - likely for pennies in the dollar since teams would have know they were desperate to make room for Kucherov. They could have had to give up some of their depth that was a real factor for them in their cup run.

If the rules are the same for every team, then where does TB have an advantage?

Because the NHL has no backbone to enforce the rules.

The irony in all this is Tampa was the one team that wanted to change the rule in 2015 but nobody had their backs lol

As pointed out in some of the YouTube comments, he laughs while chugging his beer when Joe Smith is announced for his question and gets beer up his nose. Probably sniffing from that.
The nose candy came during the after party guys
