Good morning, Calgary Puck! What a beautiful morning it is today. May Long Weekend was looking very dismal this year but here we are finding silver linings in clouds.

It has the whole spectrum. Bad puck luck, fire Tippett, it’s all Archibald and Bear’s fault, Stauffer saying it’s a maturity issue, Nugent-Hopkins is invisible... rinse and repeat.
There's a big time split happening in HFOil. Right down to yay he got 3 secondary assists. Dogged it on the clearing attempt and looks terrified and tentative.
To, you leave Connor alone, he dragged this team to the playoffs, the league needs to call more penalties for all of the stuff he has to fight through, he's doing his best.
Its delicious.

I went to bed having last looked at my phone when it was 4-1.
Gifts like these? They are rare and as such we must cherish them.
And the McDrai post-game presser? That was the cherry on top.
All of it was awesome. The fact that they took no responsibility. Acknowledged nothing and by all accounts, seemingly couldnt care less.

EDIT: Oops, I think I was beaten to the punchline by Reggie in the other thread!
Hear hear. And yes, he might have posted it first but you got the quote right.

I know its not too #### hot right now. We are down 0-3 in a best of 7 and it ####ing sucks looking at potentially being swept. But you need to look at the good things that came from this season.
* Darnell Nurse is a legit top pairing D-man.
* Jesse Puljujarvi is the winger McDavid needed.
* Larsson is back in form and looking to take a sweet heart deal for the team.
* A bloated contract is likely on the way out in the expansion draft.
* Dylan Holloway is a legit top prospect.
* Bouchard is a top 4 dman on this team looking at a log jam.
* Broberg is here next year with Bakersfield
* McLeod is a legit top 9 forward with top 6 potential
* Yamamoto will be out of his sophomore slump
* A lot of cap is being freed up and many of the stop gaps won't be back.
* Benson and Marody will likely be in the show.
* Kris Russel will be making 1.25M
* Barrie will be gone I will miss his offence but I believe Bouchard is the better player in offense and defensive responsibilities.
* Kahun and Yamamoto will be up for new contracts and they won't be getting massive raises.
* Nuge may likely take a sweetheart deal.
We are a **FEW** pieces from being a play off team that goes beyond the first round. I didn't feel this year was it (I did not expect us to be potentially swept)
********************************
Again, no one had us making the play offs. We had too much cap tied up in pieces that can't play to their salary.
We did not make massive moves to bring in talent at trade deadline. We did not ship picks out for magic beans and we did not sign massive contracts and NMC's
Yet..
Ken found pieces that made us better for ####ing cheap. Smith at 1.5, Barrie, Kahun. Some did not pan out like Turris but he is on a 1.65 deal for two years. There is potential he can come back next season and be effective in a bottom 6 role if not its money off the books after a season.
Also shout out to PTO gem Devin Shore I love this guy.

We need to only look at Winnipeg to see what is coming. They are a deep skilled team that built through the draft in Atlanta before coming north. They failed to make the play offs and kept building. They are now reaping the rewards of that.
They have a team that knows what it takes to win and what its like to fail.
*****************************
**Draisaitl and McDavid won't give up on this team they love this city, love the fans and they want to build something here.**
I don't know about you... but I got to feel excitement for the play offs for the first time in 4 years. And we will be back next year.
Who do they think Seattle is going to take in the expansion draft? Neal? It looks like he's the only bloated contract they're likely to expose, but why would Seattle want to go anywhere near him?
