Lose in any fashion, they own the 11th-best odds. Win in any fashion, they own the 12th-best odds.
I think technically if they win they get the 13th best odds in the draft lottery because Arizona’s pick is still in the draw but if it wins a redraw occurs.
Lose - have 11th best lottery odds and pick 11th if nothing changes with our pick or anyone ahead of us in the standings
Win - have 13th best lottery odds and pick 12th if nothing changes with our pick or anyone ahead of us in the standings
If he's actually resorting to this kind of stuff then the Flames are in worse trouble than we thought. The whole grumpy pants act is getting really old.
What? I love the act, it's the only entertainment we are getting out of this team!

Getting the Johnny Hockey treatment. I wonder if they sent the private jet for him. Probably not. Hope he scores, so Scorp can have that long waited release.
I love how the NHL was just like "#### it, two weekday afternoons for you, it ain't matter anyway" when they rescheduled these games.
Like, were these the original times when they were rescheduled? Or were they re-rescheduled after it became apparent they didn't didn't matter and they wanted to start the playoffs?

It's a poorly ran league, so nothing surprises me anymore but they probably had these games rescheduled before Calgary was out of it. Hence the North division games for the 4th seed starting tomorrow.

An OTL will move them ahead of the Coyotes and a win will move them ahead of both the Coyotes and Blackhawks.
I can't find this year's exact draft lottery odds, but last year, the 11th best odds were 3%, 12th were 2.5%, and 13th were 2%. With Seattle being in the lottery this season, those numbers will change slightly. Plus, the removal of Arizona from the mix will also slightly alter every team's odds. Finishing ahead of or behind Arizona will make a very small difference in the lottery odds, which either won't matter at all --- or will matter a lot.

It's actually pretty impressive the league got in 56 games for all teams across two countries in a pandemic. Some of you are being too critical IMO. They had an entire team get covid a month ago and still pulled it off.
Calgary and Vancouver are done before their division playoffs start.

There was no start time assigned to these games when they were first rescheduled. They were just given a date.
If this game would have mattered for playoff positioning, it would almost-certainly have been in prime time because it would have mattered, and Toronto's first game wouldn't have been able to be scheduled yet.

I agree, the league has been quite resilient through all this. The Flames are probably one of those teams that were more effected by the pandemic just due to everything going on, kind of like a perfect storm where they just fell short.
