You know they're gonna go 4-0 vs. Van just to screw up the draft as well. Peak Flames!

100%. Big changes should have been made that off-season with those players who failed to shows up put in the chopping block. Career season by pretty much all the core players would have garnered big returns.
Instead, the GM gives them all 'another chance' (sounds familiar?) and it's been downhill ever since. Where were all the lessons learned the team carried over from getting bounced by the Avs? Where were all the lessons learned getting bounced by Dallas? Hell, where were all the lessons learned when they were the cardiac kids and consistently made epic 3rd period comebacks? Shouldn't that be a skillset you remember to do? The players kept tell us year after year that they learned lesson, grew up, gained experienced, etc. But seems there's never anything to show for it.
This is the most unclutch group of players and franchise I've ever seen. It's gross how unclutch they are. Never showing up when a big game matters. Never acquiring that big franchise changing player to put them over the top. Very rarely getting that big goal at a desperate time in the game when the season is on the line. But they put up good press conferences I guess .
Just a gross collection of players with no chemistry. I feel bad for the owners because they did right getting Sutter to join. But even he didn't sign up for this. I've been one of the biggest BT supporters since he joined. But it pains me to say, his time is up. Hopefully the owners do right and are already in talks with the NYR bunch that got let go.

Hopefully Tkachuk actually spends the offseason working on his game instead of making instagram videos with his brother.
It sounds like fitness and conditioning was a big issue for the team so they better put the time in the gym this summer but I'd like to see what Sutter can do with a full summer + training camp with the core before we head to a full on blow it up mode.

Lol, this team is done. Bottom 6 is just the small problem. The core is a bunch of soft losers
Tre must go. Full rebuild is needed

I find it ironic that the Paul Byron line scored all 3 Habs goals.

Ah yes, Paul Byron, Bob Hartley and Heather Liscano. The missing links.
(I actually miss Liscano)

Running a pro hockey team is so easy! This franchise has been turned around by this thread in not even 12 hours. Looking forward to a deep and successful playoff run next year.

You might get your wish on Treliving but it is almost a lock this team attempts a retool and decided against rebuilding.

Right now the Flames would be slated to pick 10th.
If the go 0-4 there is potential for the Canucks, Sens, Kings, and Sharks to pass them getting them in the 6 spot. If they go 4-0 they could slide 2 spots to 12th. I suppose teams behind them could win the lotto which pushes them down further and then Seattle also moves them down a spot so likely looking at a 10-13th pick for the team

This core is so unlikeable. Every single one of them can go away and I won't give a single ####.

The other team I follow is the Flyers, who are pretty much the Flames east. Underachieving, disappointing, max out at good but not great, lacking elite players, carousel of coaches. The similarities are uncanny. And in both cases the enduring mediocrity is rooted in ownership who will not commit to a rebuild.

The Flyers aren't perfect but are a much better team that was sunk by the worst goaltending in the NHL. They would be in the playoffs with league average goaltending.

Hasn't this been the story for the Flyers for 40 years? Good teams, bad goalies.

I just think flames going 0-4 is very unlikely. Vancouver is in the same boat as Calgary. It’s going to be very uninspiring hockey for those games. Both teams will be trying not to ruin there golf game for summer. I’m penciling then in going 2-2. Not sure where that will put us? Probably not in top 10.

Kind of but I would take that roster over the Flames. Hart is only 22 years old though and I would think will get back to the form of a year before. I wouldn't be surprised of they bounce back next season and contend for the division title.

I don’t know how anyone can not like Elias Lindholm…
You could make cases for not liking the rest but Lindholm is a beaut!

I'd keep Lindy and Hanifin. Maybe Tanev but meh. Everyone else can go for the right price.
More likely we will see most back with one big shake up trade made. Probably in a panic by Treliving so we will get screwed. Something like Lindy + Tkachuk for Eichel, which is terrible.

i lived through the young guns era and to me this team is way more disappointing. The young guns teams were simply not good, this team has talent and in a weak division cannot even play 500 hockey. I agree Lindholm is a fine player and to me is a guy you need to move forward with more than the rest of this core group.

I would be in favour of the entire roster being dealt to Seattle in exchange for a fresh reset.
