I'm genuinely curious to see if anyone is shut down due to injuries. Like is Monahan actually hurt or just a really bad season?
Has Tanev been playing (well) through some nagging injuries?

I'd like to see Kylington and Valimaki get some time running the powerplays and also to see if Phillips can generate much out there. Put Gawdin on the pk and see what he can do. Give Zagidulan a couple of games too.

Admittedly the evaluation of players in a doofus vs doofus 4 game series will be limited, but still more interesting than watching guys just go through the motions.

Start the off season on Tuesday and fire Tre. 7 years and no results. This team last year had no heart and he did not make the changes everyone knew he needed to make. He went cheap on the coach and it cost us any chances this year. Time to pack his office and go back and make pizzas with dad. As much as I hate the Coilers it is only our fault we are not in it. Tre needs to go because of this lazy team he put together.

This is the most disappointing season since the 09-10 year that was supposed to be the moves that put the Flames over the top. Landing Brent Sutter as coach and adding Bouwmeester that team got off to such a good start. The huge losing streak and horrible Phaneuf trade while missing the playoffs and not having a 1st round pick was super painful. Iggy and Kipper were already in their 30’s and this was the beginning of 5 straight years missing the playoffs.
This year was pretty disappointing but while the Bennett trade stings it is not the same as the Phaneuf deal. Getting Sutter as a coach was a nice highlight but to perform so badly in an all Canadian division sure stung. The organization is in a far better position than the 09/10 team but a lot of work remains

Time for the Flames to go 4-0 and give a compelling speech about how the answers are in the room and how they believe this team is a contender.
 This is an abusive relationship.

Where does this season rank on the list of most disappointing missed playoff seasons for the fans? I'd put 20/21 just behind 91/92 and 12/13.

Bouwmeester’s first season has to be up there

I think by the lockout shortened season we knew it wasn’t a playoff team so it hurt less and at least Hartley games were fun to watch

That would be huge, but why not. There are potential GMs out there, who can then start talking stock of the team when the players are still playing.

If put this as the most disappointing. Maybe because it’s so fresh but it really does smell bad.

This team turned into a bunch of pansies during the Colorado series and has never looked back. No chemistry, no determination, no courage. I’m looking forward to seeing what changes are made, and hoping to be cheering for a younger, faster, stronger Flames team on opening night in October.

I think he should be let go, but I don’t think it will happen. My gut tells me that ownership probably told Sutter that he will have a lot of input on the team going forward. Considering the core needs a big time shakeup , bringing in a new gm now would probably dissolve that from happening straight away.

I barely remember 91-92 and wasn't as passionate as I am now and missing in 12-13 wasn't really surprising so this year is at the top.

There's no excuse why they shouldn't have atleast competed for 2nd in the division made the playoffs.

The Young Guns weren’t disappointing. They were playing in an unfair league structure, and the players had heart. Expectations were low.
The late Iggy years were highly disappointing, but to me this season is the worst. The apparent lack of heart on the ice and the tactical decision making were just abysmal to watch.

This year was going to be our easiest path to the cup. Getting to only have to play Colorado/Vegas/St Louis only in one of the two last rounds. We could have taken any Canadian team in a 7 game series. It was just get in and they completely blew it.
