A bunch of miners in China went down for maintenance which caused a massive decrease in hash rate for the rest of the miners. Miners difficulty corrects every 2 weeks and I believe the next adjustment is in the 30th. This is a part of the reason behind the dip.

I wonder if China did this on purpose because the people’s bank of China said that bitcoin is an ‘investment alternative’. Could this be a sign that China’s loading up on bitcoin 🤔

So what, a hole bunch of miners just happened to plan maintenance at the same time, and that tanked 15% of the value out of Bitcoin? Maybe I should just sell my bitcoin etf, that's crazy.

BTC hasn't tested the bull market support band since like September or October, which is an unusually long time. This is pretty standard for crypto. If you bought BTC 3 months ago you'd still be up 50% even with this capitulation. Nothing really to worry about and a great opportunity to buy.

There's some whales boosting alt-mining coins (CCX, RYO and XWP) on TradeOgre (small exchange) right now.

Massive pump and dump has caused the price of RYO in particular to skyrocket, and make mining it insanely profitable, but only on a single exchange. Subsequent movement from large ETH farms as well, as ETH hash difficulty has dove ~1% in 2 hours.

We're getting early February returns on ETH tonight, pretty wild.

I would highly recommend taking a look at their staking pools, some of the higher risk pools have 30% APY on 90 day locks, and your stake rewards are accrued daily into your Spot wallet.

Again my referral link is https://accounts.binance.com/en/register?ref=X1QCXYYB

Anyone who uses it to sign up we will get 10% of each others trade fees back as BNB.
Sucks the max you can stake is only 1000 ADA and a there's a limited number of slots.

Can one stake different coins at the same time? Like let's say you had 10000 ADA, staked 1000 in the ADA pool and traded the rest into a bunch of other coins and stake those simultaneously? Those returns are insane if you can get a slot....

I don’t see why you couldn’t. I considered it, but my worry was after the stake, converting back to ADA may have risen more than 30% and you’d have lost value. Comes with some added risk.

True, but it could be a nice way to diversify holdings and make great returns as long as binance allows its users to stake 10+ coins at once. Also, for the time being it seems most coins mirror what bitcoin does to some extent. I'd have to do a bunch of research but I'd wager most altcoins they offer staking on have had similar performance over the last couple of years.

Now if binance let's one stake doge....

At least for the 30 and 60 days, the max should be 500K.

You can stake any and all of your coins that offer staking on Binance. You can also "ladder" it with several staking positions of the same coin.

You can do way better day trading ADA than staking, obviously more risk involved but more reward too.

Interesting...so out of curiosity over the last 30 days we've seen some pretty wild movements in the price of ADA, yet the value now is the same as it was exactly 30 days ago. How did you fare if you don't mind me asking? (I'm cool with a pm)

I often look at historical prices and calculate what could have been buying and selling at the optimal times. I like to torture myself you see.

I mean that's day trading anything. You can make 30% in 30 minutes sometimes, but conversely buying at the exact wrong time means you're the guy left holding the bag.

Day trading crypto is straight up gambling. You must have a lot of money or love the casino and I don't think we should be encouraging anyone to do this.

Dunno, I think there might be a bit of art and science to day trading crypto and would be interested in learning about it. There is certainly more volatility in crypto than traditional markets so maybe a good day trader can do very well. I think market fundamentals are still in play.

I see the binance return is an estimate, have you had any of these stake periods complete and how close was the estimate?

You are entitled to your opinion but as far as I'm concerned the entire crypto industry is a speculative gamble. If you can day trade and take some profits or increase your number of whatever coin you believe in I don't see anything wrong with that. Obviously the standard caveats that apply to all crypto are included in day trading, don't invest anything that you can't afford to lose.

My crypto day trading strategy is simple but effective and follows some simple rules:

1. Never invest or trade with any funds you can't afford to lose. As highly unlikely as it is things could severely crash and if you can't afford to lose that money don't invest it.

2. Buy low/sell high - obviously everyone knows this but there are some nuances to it in crypto. I always try to sell around the daily high and buy back in around the daily low. Sometimes I end up selling too soon and it keeps going up and sometimes I buy back in too soon and it keeps going down. But by following this rule I always increase the number of coins i have.

2. Never buy or sell at a loss - if you sell high and it keeps going up wait until it goes back down. There is always a correction. Similarly if you buy in and it goes down be patient and it will go back up and you can sell for a profit again.

3. Never panic buy or sell - last week crypto had a huge drop across the board. A lot of people had stop/loss orders and sold at a loss but if you just hung in and waited for the price to rebound or bought more when it dropped within a matter of 12 hours it had recovered most of those losses and you could have had a nice 20-25% profit when you sold again.

When I buy or sell I go all in, unless I suspect potential for more movement one way or another which often happens in a volatile market then I will sell or buy maybe 50% and see where the market is. If it drops more buy even lower and if it goes up I'll either wait for a drop again or sell again for a profit if it keeps going up.

Trading fees aren't much to be concerned with. For example on Binance trading 1000 ADA costs like 1 ADA so even trading multiple times a day you will always make much more than your fees. Even at higher fees like some exchanges have I still think the fees aren't a huge concern.

I am trading pairs ADA/BTC and XRP/BTC and I never concern myself with the price of the BTC as my goal is to increase my XRP/ADA coin numbers regardless of the BTC price fluctuations.

Another thing is always try to know as much about your coin as possible. Just like the stock market news coming of potential partnerships or uses of the coin can lead to some huge daily gains and other news like Bidens new tax law for an example can create some record lows and great buying opportunities. Reddit groups for coins can be good as long as you can distinguish the real from the fiction and know that some people in there post to serve their own interests (like any stock group on reddit too I guess)

I'm sure if I learned more about how to read and interpret crypto charts and graphs etc. (which I intend to do sometime) I could improve my profit percentage but just by following my simple plan I have averaged about 16-23% monthly gains and the more coins you accumulate the more you have to trade.

Of course the results will depend on the volatility of the market which I don't see stabilizing anytime soon.

Hopefully this long post helps some people.

I've done staking with BNB and DASH over 90 days and the daily interest payout is spot on.

Cool news about Cardano. The Ethiopian education system will be running on its blockchain. Watch as Africa leapfrogs the world in real world adoption over the next 5 years. It's exciting to see.
