Sutter for this entire season would've bought us another 7-10 points currently I think.
I have no doubt if Sutter was Head Coach for the entire season that the Flames would be in a playoff spot right now.
Bringing him in halfway through a shortened season put him in a really tough position. He just didn't have enough time to get the team consistently playing the way he wants them to.

-Monahan with a big 3 point game and especially a big 2 point third period and GWG when they truly needed it. He deserves the criticism but I really do like him as a person and hope that things turn around for him. Notably, I thought his skating looked unusually good tonight.
He also led the team in hits tonight. He looked surly out there!

Yup, the national media narrative is that Sutter hockey is dull, gum-it-up, slow-it-down, boring hockey. And yeah, that's probably the way it looks when you're cheering for the team playing against us. (except for Ottawa, of course)
But to suggest the Flames prefer bad ice to enhance "their" game? Silliness.
Too early to tell, but if I understand the tie breaking procedure, Regulation wins are first up, and given that Flames have 17 and the Habs have 18, if we are some how able to tie them in the standings, it more than likely means we have won more games and the tie-break goes our way?
Even more so with 2 more games against them I would assume?

To be fair, I teach on zoom all day every day...it’s not hard to forget to click the hand down button when you’re in the middle of talking.
Can't wait till we sneak into the playoffs and all the "die hard" fans come back and we have more than 6 pages in a winning PGT
I want nothing more to hop back firmly on the bandwagon. I said a couple weeks ago a couple times there was like zero chance of them making it and I still think that is true, but admittedly less true. There is a chance but they have to take these Montreal games.
But to swallow my pride and watch them make playoffs would be INCREDIBLE. I would be so happy about that.
