For the life of me I do not understand why the Panthers are giving a former 4th overall pick who scored by the boatload as a center in junior time with skilled players in his natural position. By Sam's third season with Calgary we had moved him to the wing so that Stajan and Jankwoski could play center and Sam could play with them. The Panthers are doing it all wrong.

I'm glad Benny is having a great start with the Panthers right now because it just further indicts that the Flames screwed up big time in how they handled him by hiring bad coach after bad coach, and never gave him the proper opportunity to flourish.
That's how you continue to be a franchise that is the king of mediocracy for +30 years. That's Flames identity.
Keep tearing it up Bennett.

Bennett's development is an inditement both on the Flames and himself. Do I think he is all of a sudden going to turn into a point per game player on the Panthers? No. Do I think he will be better on the Panthers? Yes. He is probably thrilled to be out of Calgary and away from the rot. I would have an extra pep in my step too. He is also playing with Huberdeau, a smooth skating, talented, high IQ player, the type the Flames would die to have.

To be fair I don't think he would ever crack the top 2 lines in Calgary just the way they are set up.

I never want to see a highly thought of prospect from the chl come in during spring time games to get their first taste of the NHL. Let them play out the year in the minors and have a fresh camp to kick off their gig.
Bennett and baertschi's late season tastes seems to have broken both prospects...... There's gotta be a correlation there somewhere!
