Ryan 50% retained should get this team at least a 4th

I don't see it but I hope you are right. The thing is we know Sutter likes to ride his starter so trading Rittich is not surprising. However, if Sutter still thinks they have a chance to sneak in I don't see Ryan being dealt.

Gaudreau is the one who is traded if someone is traded today though. Not sure how I feel about that either.

I think the only guy traded thus far that has any term beyond this season is Jeff Carter...and he could retire.
Gaudreau isnt getting dealt today unless one GM somewhere goes completely rogue to the rest of the league.
I still think both Bennett and Ryan go somewhere though. Maybe Stone.

I think you are right the only way we see a big deal is due to the fact a lot of teams have disappointed this year and perhaps some GM’s are in job saving mode (ours included) and a little more open to a big deal. Trading for Johnny now gets a team potentially 2 runs with Johnny.
Just doesn’t seem like it will happen today

People are going to hate this, but I think Bennett stays... Seems like he’s played better under Sutter and Treliving, already stubborn enough about his value, isn’t gonna sell him short of overpayment. I hope he does though.

I'm of the opinion that the Bennett trade request was a turning point for our season.
He shouldn't have played another game for us this year after that. If you don't want to be here, then don't be here.

You'd have to think contender out there would take Johnny to add some danger to their lineup going into the playoffs. Who (player) would be some prime targets to pair up with him?
Ovie? ...?
Edit: I mean the good kind of danger from him not being the only guy on the team worth double-teaming, not the way it is here.

My gut has me thinking that his want to leave stemmed from the country club attitude and coaching.

Bennett isn't going anywhere unless Seattle takes him. He has looked much better under Sutter.

He wanted to leave because Ward was playing games with him and clearly disliked the player.

My thoughts as well.
If Sutter and the organization did really give everyone a clean slate when Sutter stepped into the room, then Bennett's 8 even-strength points in 15 games is pretty damn solid production from a player who has played 4th line LW while also being on one of the PK units. He's also recorded 35 hits in those 15 games (Tkachuk has 31, Lucic has 36, Ritchie has 52)

Yea that's how I see it...and when Ward was playing musical chairs with his lineup Bennett continued to play on the 4th line, it wasn't until he/his agent spoke up about wanting out that he was finally put in rotation along with everyone else...or even if he was bumped up occasionally it's obvious there was no clear direction.
That's not to excuse Bennett's play, but at least give the guy a role, ie: a PK role under Sutter.

I woud counter it was Matt's reaction after the puck flip. There were plenty of other passengers as well.

I don't think Ryan gets traded. Sutter commented his appreciation of Ryan when Ryan returned to the lineup. He's the veteran that can play up and down the lineup in all situations. He's our best face off man. He works his butt off and Sutter likes that effort. I don't get the hate for his 3.125 salary.
Sutter also singled out Monahan for doing everything asked of him, so I doubt he gets moved either. Gaudreau and Bennett would be my guess as to who is most likely to be gone. But Bennett might stick because Sutter likes his aggressiveness.

Maybe, but pretty sure it was when the GM just gave the Head Coach job to the guy who got it by default vs actually choosing the best person for the job and doing some interviews.
