What is surprising to me is that Vegas has been pretty quiet. They are usually in on the big names. Perhaps cap issues have finally caught up with them.

I disagree that he is making a standard wage for his production this year. 64th highest paid D? Needs to be better than he is playing this year, and the rest of his draft class has zero bearing on that.
 |
It’s not cherry picked, it’s the closest Flame to his style of play.

Look at the other D making around his money, if you prefer. They generally score in his range. Or less. For the most part, the only ones who score a bunch more and make less are ELC bargains or guys who signed a long time ago and are higher in their career arc. BTW, he’s 67th in money, not 63rd. And he’s 52nd in points, so that doesn’t seem off to me.

Maybe you’d rather have DeHaan, or Gostisbere, or Murray, Pulock, Orlov, Zaitsev, Savard, Brodin...

I see Eklund has put a post saying Gaudreau rumors grow and a picture of the Flyers logo stating their loss last night could expedite things. I doubt it but Eklund has had some success with the Flyers in the past

The flyers are the only team he actually has legit connections with.

His track record throughout the NHL is laughable but he has a fairly good track record with the flyers.

Does he though?

I think his link with the Flyers is a urban legend.

Andy Strickland @andystricklandHearing Anaheim asking for a 1st-Plus for both Rickard Rakell and Josh Manson. Would consider a top prospect as a 1st but would want two. #Flytogether

The return wasn't great, but when the star player has control like that, and then actively ####s over the team by not living up to the list provided, the return is going to be negatively impacted. Considering how late in the game the negotiations were forced to take place, the Flames were lucky to get anything for Iginla. Frankly, this was one of the biggest dick moves by a player in quite sometime. |
Kochlachev and Bartkowski isn’t much better than Agostino and Hanowski, In fact Agostino is still getting NHL games right now. So the negotiated packages weren’t that different.

But I agree, Feasters hands were tied but he probably could have played it better too.

He broke the Carter/Richards deals.

Somewhat broke the the JVR deal but got who was going back wrong.

Then he has announced some of thier signings in the past.

Other than that his hits are far and few between.

I don't think so. I think we are done after the Rittich move. At least until the offseason.

If I was a betting man I would agree. I hope there are a few other seller moves but I have little hope that we see anything significant from the Flames today

Interesting, to me that could actually give some credit to the random Lawton call out earlier today. I will see it when I believe it, I don't think we're going to see a big change today. Treliving doesn't seem to be a deadline GM. I have thrown out some proposals for fun but I am not sure I really see Tre pulling the trigger.

Gaudreau is the one who is traded if someone is traded today though. Not sure how I feel about that either.

I'm thinking Ryan is going to be acquired by Edmonton by the end of today, with salary retained, since Nuge went down with injuries.
