That's what gives me hope for this one. It looks like they are trying to showcase a bunch of over the top "Fatalaties" in the trailer. That being said, they are going to have to address how Earth Realm stands even a bit of a chance against ice/fire/4 armed monsters. I get the robot arms but a movie star? Come on man.
Johnny Cage isn't in the trailer or IMDB so maybe they're not even going to attempt it in this one.

I think it' be great to have Johnny Cage and have him be exactly that, an over-confident Tom Cruise-type movie star who just gets ripped apart in the first few minutes.

Oh man...Tom Cruise would be perfect for that....
I actually think I'd pay money to see that.

That looks good. Haven't seen Josh Hartnett in a while either.

"I wasn't doing it to be recalcitrant or a rebel. People wanted to create a brand around me that was going to be accessible and well-liked, but I didn’t respond to the idea of playing the same character over and over, so I branched out," Hartnett told The Guardian in a new interview.
"I tried to find smaller films I could be part of and, in the process, I burned my bridges at the studios because I wasn’t participating. Our goals weren’t the same."
I also saw an interview with him years ago where he said he was knee deep in Batman negotiations when he backed out and decided that wasn’t the path for him. Give a guy a lot of credit for seeing his goals versus just seeing dollar signs. I mean, I don’t think I’d have that kind of integrity or self respect. Good on him.

Warner Brothers squeezed characters from just about every property they own into that trailer. That includes the Droogs from A Clockwork Orange... in a kids movie.

I feel like this trailer may have given a little to much away for my taste.
Story set-up- provided
Main character mystery background - set-up
Main character mystery background provided - check
Real story line beyond the cash truck heist - provided
End game faceoff- provided
I feel like the only question left is if Statham dies or not when he kills the person in the end game faceoff.
Still, looks like a great action flick, but Ritchie usually has a bit of a fun story ride with the characters only reveling key information later in the movie he takes the viewers on that is missing or ruined by this trailer.
I don't hate it. I'm sure my kids will get a kick out it. Same way I loved Slimer when he became a sidekick in the animated series. Movies also need/want these merchandising opportunities to make more money.
If Disney had been on-the-ball with Baby Yoda merchandise, they probably would have made as just as much on merchandise as they did on subscriptions.
