I'm such a sucker for Disney characters, and will admit that I did love Malificent (sp) with Angelina Jolie.

Plus Emma Stone is great in everything she does.

Regarding the theater experience, one of the major reasons I go is to be forced to just sit down and rest.

If I'm not at work I'm doing major renos on the house or going jogging, sometimes I just need to be stationary and not feel guilty looking at something that needs to be done.

This. And it’s something I like doing with my kids. They unplug and aren’t distracted and gives us something to discuss afterwards.

All in all, I’m pretty tired of cocooning inside the house and look forward to experiencing things with others.

I mean obviously it's going to be terrible, but is it going to be fun terrible or dull terrible is the question.

I must admit those MK:Rebirth/Legacy short films were a serious guilty pleasure of mine. This new movie is using the same writer, so could actually be good.

Hell yes. Not even guilty pleasure. I told anybody who would listen... Maybe that's why my friends don't talk to me anymore.

I don't know what it is but I get disproportionately excited for movies like this vs. how good I KNOW they aren't going to be. There is something to be said for schlocky, bad action movies that really hits the spot. They are like the gas station chicken fingers of movies. At 2am after a bunch of beers, totally hits the spot.

Seems decent.

I'll probably wait for the director's cut in a few years to ensure I get to experience the director's real vision.

See, I dont have any problem with that, so long as the movie in some fashion acknowledges it.

"We're not taking ourselves super seriously and neither should you..."

As long as its still good.

Self-awareness in bad movies is important, but there's a point you can overdo it. Needs the right blend of knowing it's stupid, while simultaneously giving us really over the top, so stupid it's hard to believe scenes. It's what brought the Fast and the Furious series back to life after being dead.

That's what gives me hope for this one. It looks like they are trying to showcase a bunch of over the top "Fatalaties" in the trailer. That being said, they are going to have to address how Earth Realm stands even a bit of a chance against ice/fire/4 armed monsters. I get the robot arms but a movie star? Come on man.

Come on? What do you mean 'come on?'

Do you think Hollywood is going to pass on an opportunity to stroke their own egos?

"Movie stars are just as good at doing the things they pretend to do as the people who do them for real!! Now, double-espresso macchiato with almond milk that's been harvested from a non-conflict zone in the Himalayas!!"
