Anderson can not handle McStupid or Draisuckl. Constantly getting schooled by them.
Gaudreau use to blow past the defenders. Now he constantly stops skating and turns back after the blue line.

They have two elite, top 5 players in the league. That alone, will always be a tough task for this Flames team to overcome. Especially when we don’t have one game breaker. Our depth just isn’t enough to overcome it.

If our goalie played elite, like he has in the past, then sure. That would help. Not blaming him for this loss, but unfortunately the guy (smith) on the other side played an equally good game.

team needs to score. They were pretty unlucky on the Lindholm and Ritchie chances

Just enough to be decidedly average....at best.

Sixth out of 7. In this division. Falling below the Canucks while they aren’t even playing.

This team is nowhere near average.

I said it to a buddy the other day. You have to blow the Oilers out, not take a one goal lead because they can suck all game and then McDavid goes off for two shifts, or the refs gift them a few power plays.

Yeah the shine has gone off Anderson for some time now unfortunately.

Can't check, won't check, can't depend on him to gut out pucks in the corner. Whereas Monahan is actually in there shift after shift getting all the little things done.

Really sick and tired of all the Blames falling on Monahan. Or most of the blame. It's pure horsecrap.
Well, he is a C. He is the most important forward on the team. Johnny is not.

Just not enough scoring power. Markstrom takes heat from here, but really, the team gives him nothing. He knows he has to be perfect to win, it probably paralizes him.
Scoring in the league has gone up. If I were to guess, this season goals per game league wide has to be around ~6. So in order to win, you'll need to score at least 3 goals to have a chance. With how inept the offense is on the roster, there's just waaaay too much reliance on the goaltending being outstanding each and every game, and letting in less than 3 goals on average against. That's just not possible with the game now. You gotta be able to score enough to actually win games, not the other way around in don't give up goals to not lose them.

The Flames offensive talent is sunk the competitive potential of the team. They just are awful offensively, and can't confidently get a goal each period.

The season that got Feaster fired the Flames had 77 points in 82 games. This iteration of the Flames is on pace for 75.5 points over 82 games.

The Flames could finish lower than the Devils, but I can't see the Flames doing worse that Detroit, Ottawa, Anaheim, and Buffalo.

Feaster was fired for more than lack of points.

You know once mathematically eliminated the Flames will go on a 10 game winning streak.

That's the Flames way.

They worked hard. Played mostly 60 minutes. That's all I asked for. 6 of the last 7 games have been losses. I am pretty sure they know the season is over. What is now important to me is to see how their effort is even though the season is basically over.

The worst part of this season is that there really isn’t a bright spot.

Andersson regressed. Valimaki didn’t play like a blue chip prospect. The stars were all terrible. Markstrom hasn’t stolen many games. Even Mangiapane and Dube haven’t had the seasons that we would have hoped for.
