Feel like we could get more.
I do think Voracek would do well here though.

The Sabres don't even have a timetable on Eichel's return as he's still rehabbing. The timing isn't right for an Eichel trade.

If Patrick didn't have the migraine issue I would say for sure yes. Change Patrick to Frost and I would definitely consider that.

Its true the Flyers seemingly always get big names. but I just do not see where Eichel fits unless Couturier is going the other way....and i really dont think thats a possibility. He is their best player and cheap.
*IF* this were to happen it would have to be Couturier, one of Sanheim/Provorov, and 2 1st round picks IMO.
Though this is certainly the kind of offer that might get Buffalo actually willing to part with him.

Flyers put an overpaid player on waivers and suddenly they are getting Eichel?

I think the rumour around one of Nashville's D makes sense.

yeah, it's probably Ekholm. Dare to dream we get in on some action though.

As of this morning (Athletic simulator), Philly has about 11% chance of making the playoffs this year (Flames at 8%). I think a team that is loading up for the playoffs would be acquiring Ekholm. I guess he has another year on his contract so who knows.

Nashville is in a playoff spot and has won 5 in a row.
I wouldn't be surprised if they have cooled on trading players away. They might prefer a hockey trade now.
Friedman said Nashville isn't looking to trade him as much as they were before.

Would the Flyers go 4-4 for protection?
Their D is locked with Sanhiem, Provorov, Myers needing to be protected. Up front they have Giroux and Hayes that have to be protected and then they certainly keep Konecny and Couturier. Maybe they can go 4-4-1?

I say we should Do Jonny, Bennett, and Riitch to philly for konecney and Hart. Act now while Hart is not playing well and in the dog house. Could be steal down the road

I dont think Eichels injury has any impact on the flames if they were to trade for him, this season is all but done now. If Eichel is who the brass want, you spend what you need to get him because, odds are, he won't be available again if he is traded.

I don't know if anyone will pick up Gostisbehere but I suppose they save some space with him on the taxi squad

I think that is a steal immediately.
Can’t see them giving up on Hart this quickly but could see them looking to upgrade on Elliott for the stretch drive

Couturier>Eichel. At least in trade value.
Well, if your goal is winning, he is.
Buffalo would jump at this deal.

From an asset standpoint, this would be pointless from a Buffalo perspective.
Eichel the asset is far more valuable than Couturier. 4 years younger and way higher ceiling.

5 more years vs. 1 more year.
PHI probably extends him at July 1 equivalent. But they could do him dirty since he doesn't have a NTC.
Will be interesting to see what his AAV is. Probably 8.5? Or does he play things out?

And Couturier is a UFA soon (2022). No way he re-signs in Buffalo. They would basically be throwing Eichel away for a 1 year rental.
Teams with 18 consecutive losses don't acquire rentals unless the rental is flipped within a year.
Couturier is a fantastic player, but this trade makes no sense for Buffalo from an asset management perspective.

I didn’t realize that Couturier only had one year left. Huge difference.
