This is a heart breaker to watch. Other than Gaudreau, every top forward is neutered 5 on 5. Monahan has completely lost it and he's wasting Gaudreau's good plays. Markstrom looks like the goalie who couldn't quite emerge as a number 1 for years in Vancouver. Need a miracle here.

This. Absolutely this. I don't know if I can watch any more of Johnny being wasted on a line with an declining/injured player and a 4th liner.

Other teams are burying their chances. The Flames are finding ways to screw them up or shoot it right at the goalie.

Absolutely. I'm not at all blaming Markstrom for the Flames' record.

They still have major scoring problems.

But Markstrom has been part of the problem this season and needs to get his s*** together with 5 years left after this season.

Gaudreau has been good but the expectation is he is great. Johnny needs to be a top 5 scorer in the league. He has been solid but not the absolute dynamic player we have watched for years.
