Sens are a bad matchup because they are hard working and they are able to do it for the whole game.
The Flames are slow and out of shape and just can't keep up.

No kidding.
That's what I feel is the reason they struggle with them.
Young team with something to prove. They skate well and the Flames do not. Skill means crap when you are out of shape, small and soft.
Other teams have difference makers so they can still beat them. Flames get out worked and have no individual talent to counter it.

This entire team is full of rot. They can't really complete with the good teams because they can't match up with skill. Can't compete with the worst team because that team competes too hard for them.
Give up on the season, bring up some kids and start planning for next year.
Also, markstrom is pretty damn average. His rebounds are atrocious.

Oilers suck has held the Flames back for decades now.
Its a terrible measuring stick but somehow often gets used.
Congrats Flames, you're only the 2rd worst franchise in the NHL (or 3rd, but you get my point).

If Daryl can overhaul his system to compliment the players he has, there could be some improvement. I don't think we have bad players. They just play bad.

Because the GM is not responsible for everything that happens to the players. Coming out of 2019 when the Flames won the Division, there was every good reason to think that several of the underperforming players would rebound from a bad second-half and playoffs. No one predicted that they would go on to be as bad as they have been.

Then he gave them a second season to see if they would rebound as a stress test to make sure that the 2nd half of 18/19 and all of 19/20 were not aberrations

I would imagine there will be some changes to the core with hopes of retooling this team. The question is can we get a fair avlue in any off season trades.

Outside of the racial issues I liked Peter's and his system of play. More creative than this boring north/south hockey Sutter has us playing. A system that was great when Sutter had a huge and physical teams to work with. Something he doesn't have now.
Maybe Tre has to get players that fit Sutter and his style of play.
