Think on that: that's about 426 000 cases in that county alone.
Palm Beach county (home to Mar-A-Lago, and where I live), still around 400 cases a day. I still have plenty of students who end up being positive and have to attend remotely.
Most of the country has gotten better, but not south Florida. I swear, people just can't be taught.

Republicans don't even need to try and obstruct the Democrats, they do it to themselves over and over and over....

Democratic senator issues ultimatum to White House over Asian American representation
Illinois Senator Tammy Duckworth issued a stern ultimatum to White House senior officials this morning: she won't vote to confirm any more White nominees until Asian Americans are named to more high level positions in the Biden administration.

Isn't he leading the NY mayoral race? That's probably a better gig than tech czar or whatever Biden would offer him.

No idea.
I just think the whole identity politics thing is ridiculous.
People didn’t vote for the Democrats to get those in a specific ethnic or racial group a federal job. They voted for them to get stuff done like health care, education issues, tax reform, gun control, and so on.
And to dump Trump and get some sweet stimulus money.

And when Republican Asian-Americans get cabinet positions that doesn't count.

It really makes no sense.
First of all, there are no nominations left. Duckworth voted for every nominee Biden put forward, how can she be mad about it now?
Second, were the shootings in Atlanta radially motivated? Probably, but not for sure. He could have been mad at massage establishments or just ill. But let's say it was, Biden went above and beyond to shed a light on the growing violence against Asian-Americans. He didn't have to do that, it was a really nice gesture.
And this? THIS? is the catalyst to pile on the Biden administration for not doing enough for Asians?

It's just grandstanding for exposure IMO. Tammy is a contender for next President if Biden does not run in 2024 so why not raise a stink for inevitable cable network interviews?

California, the kingpin of Democratic states, just voted decisively against affirmative action. Even most Democrats, including most minority Democrats, don’t want racial quotas.

I mean California has had multiple Republican governors more recently than Oregon or Washington State, who haven't had one since the 80's, so kinda bizarre take to call it the kingpin of Democratic states.

Holy ####, I'm no US constitutional scholar, and especially not when it comes to the 2nd amendment, but that seems like a significant landmark decision.
... Wait, I just remembered who appointed the majority of the judges on the SCOTUS. Optimism dashed.

They probably welcome this, now they can push it to the supreme court and get a precedent setting ruling from a right wing court. It's the same reason they want to push for legal challenges on abortion.

Both the ruling and the decent invoke Heller to make their case.
