On that note, this board is so awesome and keeps my Oiler hate well satiated. I personally need three times the number of "Thanks" allowed. I'm sure there is a logical reason for the limit.
This is by far the best hockey forum out there and it is nice to see balanced and fair takes on most topics. Love the memes. Keep em coming!

It wouldn't look quite so bad if he just went down, but when his feet flew up into the air and he looked like a swan dive the ref just shook his head and kept skating.

Not that it’s any kind of revelation, but, wow, that oiler fan base is tone deaf!

Norm!

A couple of things just made me laugh.
When McDumby did the give away and the camera zoomed in on him going back to the bench with just a sour look on his face. He probably got to the bench and blamed Tippett. We also got to see his pouty look after the Flames second goal.
Smith's give away goal, then then the goal by NH where Smith gave RNH the glare of death and Hrudey went on a 2 minute breakdown about how much he hates it when Goalies do that, especially after making a massive mistake on the other goal.
Connor staring at the ref after one of his dives and the ref basically going nope, stay on your feet superstar.

Really? He had an amazing shot on glass early in the second.

Looks at the NHL play by play summary. McDavid was credited with hitting Hanifin at 12:12 in the 2nd. That is probably it.

Smith to Neal for a mini breakaway, puts it 6’ wide. It was one of the highlights for me.

For how fast McDavid is every time we scored and they showed a mad looking McDavid he was always way behind the play.... weird

Edit. Never mind, I rewatched the play and it wasn’t what I thought.

TO which Hrudey says" that didn't miss by much."
His recent Oiler felatio seems out of character. Makes me speculate that he has been chastised for letting his Flames preference show earlier.

I doubt it is the result of a reprimand. Hrudey's call last night struck me as noticeably different from any other Oilers games I can remember, and I suspect it was him overcompensating poorly because it was a national game. Also, Hrudey is a life-long Oilers fan, so it is unsurprising when these fan flourishes seep into his broadcasts. It doesn't happen very often, though.

Just noticed now that it appears Neal intercepts the pass to Chiasson, who was going at least double Neals speed at the time and had to hit the brakes to allow old ‘neverreallycould wheel’ James Neal time to waddle in.

And an excuse factiory.
Truly impressive.
It's just the coach/Smith giveaways/ignorant reffing/McCoughUps/lack of Kassian/injured Barrie!
Only reason why they lost!

Interesting. I had always thought he preferred Flames stemming from an old friendship with Vernon. I know he played for the Kings, but he does not seem to like that team. I admittedly had no basis for this belief beyond just observational.

I always thought he was a Flames homer. Someone said he had season tix at one point to. I dont know if that was true though.

It’s hilarious to see comments about us being goons when anyone who watches us knows we’ve been super soft for years.

The hit by Draisaitl on Monahan about which Hrudey said “he’s playing physical”, was after Monahan had made a good defensive play and the puck was gone. He cross checked him down.

So did Ron MacLean.
