"A rare giveaway by McDavid"

- Kelly Hrudey

Followed a few minutes later by another "rare" giveaway, leading to a goal.

Might be the best player on the team right now.

Meh, a fine or being suspended for a game or 2 are likely the least of his concerns at this point.

Memo to other NHL teams: The weak ass Flames that used to crumple under pressure and not push back at the sign of adversity are gone. Games against the Flames are going to be rough again.

I believe Darryl will be the first NHL coach that unlocks Hannifin’s amazing potential...it’s going to be fun to watch!

12-2-4

18 games. 28 points for Darryl Sutter's Flames.

The Oilers are in trouble.

Above all else, that was a really fun game to watch. Both teams played desperate, fast hockey. I have to admit that McDavid and Draisatl are incredible right now. They are so dangerous every time they are on the ice (which feels like 80% of the game).

I know that I'm one of the oldest, most persistent Kylington fan boys on this forum, but I thought he had an epic game tonight. I described last game as "the biggest in his career so far", but I think that standard was reached again tonight. It was a dramatic night for him tonight - suffered a huge headshot, looked like his night (maybe his season) was over, and then came back to make a huge play on an important goal. Shades of Paul Kariya in the Stanley Cup Finals.

Mangiapane has really become a special player. His motor is relentless.

Lastly, this stretch of three wins is made all the more impressive by the fact that Tkachuk, Gaudreau, Giordano, and Andersson have all been very quiet offensively. Surely, at least one or two of them are due to break out of their slumps soon?

I think it’s very possible. The big thing for me is that the Kylington was already engaged with another player, so basically defenceless. And while it wasn’t an egregious elbow or anything, when you connect flush to the head when the other guy is exposed, it doesn’t take much.

Glad Kylington was able to come back because he’s been playing great under Sutter.

Love how Markstrom came up big at the end as well.

Tough night for the Ryan line — they all ended up -2.

Hope Khaira is okay — he’s one of the few Oilers that I don’t hate, but that didn’t look good.
He could have NOT elbowed Kylington in the head....

Hanafin getting PP time in the 3rd might possibly be a routine thing now. And I'm for it.

The parade committee in Edmonton has had permanent office space on Banff Ave for 15 years now, and meets daily @ 1100 MST.
