It was an honour to watch Connor McDavid play hockey, Kelly so eloquently expressed that sentiment throughout the evening

Good win for the Flames, I suspect they will be better on Wednesday as well.

Gotta think the league takes a good, long look at the Khaira hit on Kylington. Head clearly the principle point of contact. Was really glad to see Oliver come back and play one of his best games of the season.

Couple game suspension incoming?

They have some awful stretches at times.
Mikael Backlund: 19:29 TOI 2 SOG 2 A +2.

I hope he struggles all season long.

Chucky looked "less lost" tonight. Johnny was steady - didn't mind his game at all. Both sets of lines are working in a new paradigm and learning how to play differently. They're all talented and smart. They'll figure it out.

Keep the puck in their end as much as possible seems to be the answer.

It was a pleasure to watch the camera man focus solely on McDavid's reaction after each Flames goal with Kelly forced to describe the sorrow he saw on his face

With three minutes left, the Flames burned a solid minute off the clock just by forechecking in the o-zone, creating turnovers, and preventing the Oilers from breaking out. Just a thing of beauty.

Love how Markstrom came up big at the end as well.

Tough night for the Ryan line — they all ended up -2.

Hope Khaira is okay — he’s one of the few Oilers that I don’t hate, but that didn’t look good.

Didn’t look at icetimes but it looks like Darryl has big plans for Hanifin.

He’s not going anywhere.

I do feel bad for Khaira, but man oilers fans the worst. Funny that they all forget about when Bennett answered the bell after a questionable hit earlier this year...

Edmonton sucks overall but the line they can put out for a last minute push would rival anyone in the league.

Flames did well, goalie made a couple great saves (his job)

My only complain is when there is 10 seconds left just grab the ####ing guy...like bear hug him.

This has happened to the Flames so many times over the years (and other teams) in the last few seconds just ####ing grab guys, slash them, take their sticks away!

I'd look at it and say the Oilers got very lucky with a rare 2 goals from not McDraisatl and still lost.

McLovin cost his team 2 goals due to his turning over the puck. The look on his face both times was priceless!

I’d also say that no one in the league can shutdown McDavid/Draisaitl...so, there’s that.

I think Sutter hockey is simply 4th line hockey applied throughout the lineup.

Skate hard. Keep your shifts short. Make the simple/safe plays. Finish your checks so long as it doesn't take you out of the play. Shoot first. Get to the front of the net, etc.

All the grunt players are used to these instructions. It's the finesse guys who take a while to adapt, IMO.

A good thing: means there's more potential in this roster yet to be exploited, particularly on offence where they need it.
