On the bright side I thought the effort was way better. Flames got beat by McDavid and to a lesser extent Smith.

Markstrom really needs to have that third goal. Shots from outside the dots need to be saved.
This is a pretty fair point about Gaudreau. It’s amazing how quickly that line loses possession after an offensive zone face off.

Needed to get the 2-0 goal after dominating the first, but too many missed chances and then the Oilers tie it on a nothing play. After that, it was anyone’s game but they didn’t generate much in the third, especially late.

Leivo is not the answer on the Monahan line, but might be a better fit with Ryan on the fourth line. Not sure who else you put on the wing though, but I think that needs to be a priority for Darryl.

I disagree strongly. Marky had one of his better games and was hardly at fault for any of the goals. He did his part to give us a chance at winning.

Gets beat by a great cross ice pass for the first goal.

If Lindholm allows Marky to see the shot, pool party doesn't score.

The winning goal was due to McLovin putting the shot in the only place he could, off the post.

the team is missing that star centerman that can be a gamebreaker like McAvi was tonight. That can create offensive opportunities on his own. We've been missing it for pretty much 30+ years and is a big reason why we haven't gone anywhere outside 2004.

If Sutter can turn Matthew Tkachuk's game around then he's a magician. I don't know what bizarre head space Chucky has got himself in but damn he's beyond useless.

Colin Patterson would neutralize McLoser without breaking a sweat.

They have to be massively better at even strength.

They need to learn to possess the puck again more than their opposition.

They used to do it, now they are chasing or not accomplishing much of anything, and just feast on powerplay opportunities to make most of their production and chances.

They have to relearn how to cycle for a full shift and hunt down pucks to maintain possession. It's one of the most glaring things that separates that current duo from how they played in 2018/19.

Leivo is not good.

I am expecting to see sutter put Bennett there, and sutter making 93 a pet project of his.

Every team except Toronto, Colorado and Pittsburgh is missing a player like McDavid.

I agree. I think Bennett is the obvious choice, too.

Lindholm allows a slow point shot through his legs and RV left wide open on goal one
Backlund tips the 2nd goal in after the Flames leave a guy wide open on goal two
McDavid walks in and goes off the post and in

Blame the goalie lol

I think the real problem everyone isnt talking about is how Sean and John should be split up, its been obvious for a few years now.

Excuse me? He was hitting tonight, something we haven't seen much of from. He may not have scored but his energy level was there. A huge improvement over games past.

So does every team in the league, special players that come around once a generation.
