Missed the game but happy to see a W and that they seemed to play a bit more aggressive and with some confidence.

Need to build some momentum here.

The key is for this to be a starting point and not a one off.

OTOH, as a group, Oilers fans probably are the worst judges of hockey talent and organizations on Earth.

They're glad to have Koskinen instead of Markstrom.
They don't want Tkachuk on their team.
They had 6 Giordanos on their team.
McAvi for Selke.

Broken clocks are right twice a day, and all that. That broken clock has about the same chance at being right as an Oiler fan.

Andrew Mangiapane has more goals than every Flame that is taller than he is.

Plenty of room for the Oil to fall on their own arrogance.

It won’t be, and it most assuredly is.

Mangiapanne I'm not that shocked by. It's most surprising to see that Lucic has more goals than Monahan 22 games in.

That is pretty disappointing with regards to Monahan, but it's also greatly satisfying that Lucic has 3 more goals than Neal while Lucic is also ragdolling the opposition and competing hard each game.

Time to call up Pettersen, Phillips, and Zavgorodniy.

I wouldn't call up Pettersen or especially Zavgorodniy this year unless something really dramatic happens with either of them but Phillips should be in the NHL really soon.

I'd take a look at Ruzicka, too.

Tre needs to get it out of his head that guys like Simon and the other UFAs deserve his protection on the roster. Being on a Canadian club makes players hitting waivers to shuffle down to the taxi squad almost claim proof.

Who’s apologizing? Just saying you need a decent tryout. And you can only count the games where you had Monahan and Backlund otherwise it doesn’t work. They weren’t in a deep hole until the last couple weeks.

Are you saying you don’t understand why they think they need to have two good Cs when they don’t have one elite one?

He’s much better stickhandling up the middle, where he has more room and can use his skating to beat out a check.
Pretty sure it was LW. That’s part of the problem. None of Tkachuk, Bennett or Gaudreau have looked very good any time they’ve played off wing.

He’s been terrible this year. Goalies sometimes fall pretty quick, or even just have a terrible year.

Im more worried he was saving the lines he knew would work in his back pocket in case things weren't going well

Nah. Monahan has never played RW. Transitions would be horrible, so would defensive coverage. Offensively it doesn’t really matter, they can switch around as much as they want regardless of where they line up. They take draws 50-50 anyway. Lindholm scored his goal from the left side today.
