Can we put an Oilers nation-esque filter on NHL Trade Rumors? I’m not trying to single anyone out but it’s not credible at all and it seems be be getting posted as a legitimate source far too often recently.

Monahan has 8 primary assists, 2 secondary assists.

A lot of his assists to Gaudreau are the kind where posters used to say “well that Monahan goal was all Johnny”.
And one of his secondary assists would be that great pass to Tkachuk for a breakaway, where Gaudreau ended up touching the puck as well.

Friedman relaying that Nashville is listening on everyone not named Josi, Ellis or Rinne (who is close to retirement).
Filip Forsberg anyone?
Has this year and next on the contract at 6 million per.

To be honest I haven’t given Forsberg a thought since he was in the running against Johnny and Stone for the Calder. But despite him being kind of low profile, I see his stats and they’re nice. He has good moustache game too.
I guess his lack of notoriety is due to being on the Preds which is always a team that’s just sort of there. Not bad, not good.

Man, just trade for Jarnkrok and Tolvanen. Really, that's all we need. Jarnkrok would be a splendid acquisition. May not produce buckets of points but he plays like Lindy lite. We could use more of that.
And Tolvanen is exactly what we need. A shooter pure and simple, I think he would work well with Mangiapane or Dube.

Jarnkrok isn't just Lindy lite. He's Lindys cousin.

I would do this deal in a heartbeat. Monahan has an extra year, so that may or may not be enticing for Poile, but another right shot on the team would be nice. Both players can score goals and maybe a change of scenery for both sides would be mutually beneficial.

Nashville has been an offensive black hole for a few years now. Look at all their high-end point-getters-they go to Nashville and disappear. Forsberg has a lot more to give than what he’s shown, numbers-wise. Get him here, he’ll flourish.

He’s had at least 3 or 4 that were the exact reverse of old Johnny to Monahan plays.

I don't mind Forsberg, but I'd be targeting Arvidsson. Has more term and would probably cost less, no?

Could’ve sworn he was drafted as a C, but he’s a LW who shoots right. His contract is up after next year too, so he may not be the best fit.

Changing your tune yet?
Johnny Monny and Gio all need to go. Retain salary on Johnny and Gio to maximize their value. Stick a fork in the flames.

Meh I'd keep Monahan. He's still fairly young and won't break the bank to resign again. We'll need some "veteran" talent during rebuilding to not go full oiler as an organization. I would try to keep the following and burn everything else to the ground:
-Lindy
-Dube
-Monahan
-rasmus
-valimaki
-markstrom
