I will say this about Nolan Patrick:
He had 56 pts in 55 games in the WHL as a 16 year old. He had 102pts (41 goals) the year BEFORE his draft year. NOBODY does that. This condition he’s got has robbed the hockey world of an absolute SUPERSTAR.

I was hangin with a buddy last night who has a connection to the Flames. I got him to press this connection for info after I saw Monahan was scratched. I lofted out a pie in the sky idea and asked if monny was being traded for Eichel. Before I had it out of my mouth, I was going to offer a realistic option of Anaheim/Bennett. The source texted my buddy back responding to the eichel joke and said “Anaheim”, Think Rackell”. For what it’s worth.
This guy also had Johnny to Philly this summer too. So likely nothing. The source however is connected to treliving.

Rakell is pretty great.
27, right shot who plays both wings, and only a couple years removed from 33 and 34 goal seasons. But only 1 more year signed at $3,789,444, then a UFA though.
Plus he's another Swede.

Don't love Rakell as the centerpiece in a return for Monahan. Not exactly young and is trending the wrong way. At best we are in the same place and downside would be losing Monahan for basically a rental.

Maybe Rakell and Sam Steel?

Eichel would be among the top three passers on this team, along with Tkachuk and Gaudreau
Eichel would be among the top two shooters on this team along with Lindholm
Eichel would be among the top three skaters on this team, along with Dube and Kylington.
Did I mention he's 6'2", 200+ lbs and probably hasn't even hit his yzermanian prime yet?
He's damn good

Do you actually think that makes the Flames better? Steel looks pretty mediocre.
Only way it does if Monahan is the one causing locker room issues.

Sean Monahan has looked pretty mediocre too this year.

I was trying to press for more, Bennett doesn’t get Rackell IMO, however Monahan gets you more than Rackell and one would think Bennett has to be part of this transaction. Rackell being a winger and likely shipping out two C, a C must be coming back. Henrique was just waived...? Allowing the flames to taxi squad? Or, maybe it is just monahan and Bennett stays, opening a C spot for him?

What if there were a trade to be made that involves Cam Fowler, Hampus Lindholm and Rickard Rakell in exchange for Hanifin, Gio, and Monahan
Lindholm - Andersson
Fowler - Tanev
Valimaki - Kylington
I really like the look of that blueline right there.

Are the Flames including Lucic if Henrique is coming back.
I'd rather go after Reinhart for Monahan

I like it but seems to favor the Flames. I guess it depends on how you value Lindholm and Fowler

They arguably get the best player in the deal in Monahan.

Flames Bench Sam Bennett, Trade Likely Imminent
The latest spotlight and benching has certainly sparked the conversations. Expect to see Bennett dealt sooner than later, but one thing's for sure, the Flames are only pulling the trigger when they get the return they want.

Nice to see the distraction we hoped this wouldn’t turn into has turned into a bigger distraction with even more drama.

He has 2 goals in 16 games. If this was a full season he is on a 10 goal pace. The only thing saving him from being an offensive black hole is secondary assists thanks to his linemates.
