The pretending that this team is something is sad. It’s a middle of the pack team. Without moves it’ll stay that way and then get worse when we lose guys for sweet #### all.

Seriously? I mean yeah, they definitely can be and often are... but in this case I think the negativity is warranted. They're very lucky to be getting 4 points out of these games, they've played very badly against a team that's been utterly dominated by the top teams in the division. That gives me the impression that even if the Flames do manage to claw their way into a playoff berth (likely on the shoulders of Markstrom) it'll be completely academic as they don't stand a chance of doing anything there.

Ignoring the fact that Ward is the coach so it's his call, there was no upside to leaving Markstrom in there.

My wife said: why didn't they pull Markstrom for the 3rd?

3 games against a bad Jets team who had none of Laine, Roslovich, or Dubois available. 2 points for and 5 against with a -4 goal differential.

4 games against a Canucks team that was looking like a bottom 10 team coming into the “series”. 4 points for and 5 against with a -??? goal differential.

Have to wonder what The Wizard is thinking watching this.

I don’t disagree - he should have put the foot down. I’m just saying it’s not unusual coaching even to ask the goalie or take his opinion. So far far from his worst move ever.

Who knows, it could be the beat down Calgary needs. Like that Pittsburgh game a few years back where they scored like 7 goals, then for the next 2 months played great.
