Lindholm is my hero haha.

Nice, umm.., words. Missed the point. But it’s not the time.

The team with by far the most talent, best goalie, best jerseys, best fans, etc. won tonight.

It is time to celebrate!

No. I don't think anyone is saying they looked like world beaters tonight, but so much of this game depends on confidence. If they can string a few wins together, even if they didn't look great in a few of them, that could easily turn the tide on the season.

I thought he tried lots of shots before, from really bad angles.

How about enjoying a win for what it is. Give up a goal in the last minute and comeback to win the first minute of overtime

I'd start Markstrom wednesday and friday if he's up for both and Rittich on Saturday, IMO.

Don't want to chance Rittich potentially having a rough start on friday giving the Oilers momentum in the front half of a 4 point back to back.

Dube said you can't be on an island plus Ward said to beat VAN nz(5 guys between bluelines) press you have to have close puck support.

CGY has also used weak side D to breakout contrary to that twitter guy. The other team is employing tactics too.

Bennett Lucic and Dube created 2 EV strength goals. Go to line - they deliver VAN all special team so CGY needs to figure that out.

CGY does need to get passing game back to where they've showed earlier but it is great to win. Some guys (heading into game) were having issues with their handles but the confidence from win will get them back.

Nice to see Andersson play well. Does Valimaki need a shorter stick (gets stuck trying to release. Smaller ice guys on you quicker)? But he was distributing well
on PP.

When they skate they play great!

Game Takes: Flames 4 Canucks 3 (OT)

- Flames survive penalty filled first (4-0 pp for Vancouver)
- Gaudreau continues to push the play and scores winger
- Reunited bubble third line key
- Mackey hits the scoresheet in so many ways

He's shooting the puck and from many different angles. I also like his committment to defence. Took the off season comments to heart and came back this this amuch better and complete player.

Mangiapane is noticeable I'm a good way, literally every single shift. Just smart, quick, and effective

Big thanks to Hughes on the Lindy goal for bailing out on turnover. Horvat looks bad but Hughes bailed out on the pass over to him.

Then the needless penalty on Tkachuk to set up the OT PP.

JG playing fantastic, he's wheeling with the puck. And the no look pass from Monahan was very slick and the no look held the goalie in the middle of the net that extra split second for JG to find the short side.

Lucic scored a monumental goal to start off the Flames. His 3 goal 3 assist start to the season looks good on him.

Big win! Got flashbacks to the 86 and 04 playoffs in the same game.

He’s only got one real line mate, so I think he’s doing OK.

I thought Tkachuk was a little better. Mangiapane had a great game, Lindholm had his best in a while, Dube and Lucic were pretty good.

I like Mackey OK - he’s physical, Rasmus had his best game in a while, Valimaki is getting better and better. Gio didn’t struggle as much. I actually thought Tanev was having some skating issues. The ice there sucks.
I agree, Monahan is what he is. Need to temper expectations, what he did tonight is his game, win some board battles, get set up for couple nice looks and hopefully win a few draws. Nobody should expect him to be some stand out 1st line centre because he isn't one, he doesn't have the ability to do what other top 1st line centres do.

Mangiapane continues to impress, that guy has a motor that never turns off.

Also although the PP struggled tonight I like the fact Ward is giving Valamaki some looks on the top unit. Definitely think he has the ability to contribute and should be on 1 of the 2 units. I would already say he is our best dman at getting pucks through and by the initial shot blocker, always has his head up looking for lanes and never just fires it blindly.

Vancouver may have broken their 6-game losing streak last game, but they're now 1-7 in their last eight games. Calgary is 4-1 in the past 5 games. No team is going to win 100% of their games; but for all the doom-and-gloom after the loss last time (I'm a part of it too) things have been trending in the right direction for both teams.

In the meantime,

Calgary - W
Edmonton - L
Vancouver - L

The definition of a perfect night.
