3 pretty iffy calls on the Flames and NONE on the Canucks

He must have seen better options that reuniting that line.

Yes, he put Backlund between Dube and Lucic and they were really good.

Refs are garbage to the entire league. Which is why the NHL is borderline unwatchable.

I'm just here for the Old Dutch chips and Stockholm Syndrome.

Dube makes his line mates better, it’s remarkable how much swagger he has.
Love him

Read but didn't watch yet.

Refs made a mistake by officiating the Flames by a different standard that period I think. If they really wanted to help the Canucks they'd have just let them play and the Flames would've floated to their demise.

Now you've gone and pissed off some of them with #### calls and now they might actually wake up.

Silly nucky game managers.

It’s terrible and there’s clearly a mandate to keep games close. I don’t think there’s any conspiracy against any specific teams or anything but good lord their officials can sure suck the life out of games.

I love Tanev, and I totally get the kind of player he is, but I get frustrated by him choosing to handcuff forwards with a pass, over taking a shot to create space.

sure but the penalties were 4-0 in this period...pretty hard to do much when they call everything on you and nothing on the other team.

Half the period on the PK

Honestly put Buddy with Monahan and Gaudreau, Simon has looked invisible all year. Mangiapane will drag Tkachuk and Lindholm into this game I suspect. But Simon is just a black hole of nothingness, might as well do that on the 4th line.

I thought it was Lucic-Backlund-Mangiapane that was the really good combo.

Dube's been Tkachuk-Lindholm's winger and that line has been pretty quiet for a few games now.

So you're saying players are fighting over playing time with Lucic?

Take it easy. I'm ridiculing the gm polls on CP indicating that most here believe he's one of the best GMs in history.

To be fair to those our GM history isn't great

It isn't 'when the mood strikes them', it is that they can't get the puck out of their own end.

Their entire problem is because they spend too much time in their own end because VAN (and every team with a video coach) is all over their breakout.

Well, that plus the fact that they go backwards and KEEP it in their own end even when they have a chance to get it out.

The effort is there. The style of play is
1) brutal
2) not the right style for the team

Why does Lucic look like one of our best players? Because this style actually suits him.

Again starting late with little attention to detail. This is where I think the coach is out of his depth. He can’t seem to give them the game planning they need to all collectively hold each other to higher standards of focus and effort. He just seems like a coach that is an assistant at best. Where is his personality so far? Where is his effect on the team. Like what is he supposed to do Well?

It’s because I can’t answer these questions that makes me think he isn’t a distinct element in the room. It seems it’s more of a group running it’s system due to familiarity. Inmates running the asylum type issue.

This team is always showing up late to play and the lazy calls were technically calls. The team just needs to work to regain balance in the eyes of the refs. Those eyes are a bit inconsistent I will wager but our teams preparedness in that regard seems to really wane. Our tempo has taken a hit.

Boost our tempo ward.

And lucic Benny and dube our new number one line? Give them pp and bench the pretenders.

It really is terrible. Who’s better than Tre? Fletcher? I wasn’t around for the 80’s so I can’t speak to that but since the mid-90’s I think Tre is by far the best GM we’ve had.
