Scorp, I think Vegas saw your avatar and decided to make the team look like Star Wars extras. Was that for Lunar New Year or are they going golden buckets now?
- Markstrom massive in the first half of the game
- Flames settle from there and are money in the third
- Giordano with a big night two points and two key blocks

This game looked like the Flames were in a beer league tourney and played a morning game....got sauced a bit between games but knew they had a ringer coming to play goal in the evening game. As the game dragged on they sobered up and played better at the end.

Don't look now, but Monahan now has more assists than Johnny Gaudreau in this topsie-turvy COVID hockey season.
That was not a good game, but I think it is very much like the last TO game v. the Canucks. Vancouver is EXTREMELY desperate, and I thought the Flames were coasting a bit. But I think they turned it on in the third and just completely demoralized Vancouver.

He is getting better for sure. But like lots of young guys, he hasn't been consistent. Still a ways to go there.
He is a career 30 pt guy at this stage. Sam Bennetts neighborhood. Salaries are almost identical too. No one says Bennett is anywhere near good value.
Mangiapane will probably out perform this deal though when all is said and done, but for now its just decent value and pointing towards good. In no way a steal though...unless he goes on a real tear of some sort, which wouldnt be out of the question but unlikely.
Though he is also getting good at PKing which makes him a little more valuable.
Fun guy to have for sure and looking forward to see if he progresses as hoped.
