Default Complete Carnage At Bell Media Radio: Vancouver, Winnipeg and Hamilton Sports Station

Vancouver, Winnipeg, and Hamilton stations shuttered.

"We are also hearing details about that this decision was not announced to staff prior to the shut down, and that employees were told they had 30 minutes to remove their personal belongings from the premises."

Here's the link:

Makes you wonder how bad Bell's bottom line is right now.

There's already a thread for this. We should move this there. We're making sweeping cuts on open threads.

Why would Sportsnet radio be sweating over TSN closing stations

It's disgusting how Bell has handled this. Some of the stories I've read on Twitter today are horrible. A lot of the people at the stations heard about the news over social media.

The folks at the Vancouver station were cut off mid-broadcast and replaced by an automated message announcing the end of the station, followed by music. The first song that played? "Good Riddance," by Green Day.

And apparently the people in Vancouver had just 30 minutes to clear out of the studio. You'd think that might be a little damaging to their mental health... a week after Bell Let's Talk, no less. Try walking the walk, Bell.
