Predictable. Bell has realized that SN has zero talent and pays like crap but it hasn't hurt their ratings. Why not follow suit? especially during covid.

It hasn’t hurt their ratings because they won the bid for NHL rights over TSN
But they also massively overpaid for those rights and have had to do layoffs too.
So it really seems like a lose/lose/lose because everyone loses their jobs and we have to watch Sportsnet

What’s happening with Jay Onrait? Is he being kept on in a different role? I will say that their new show lacked the charm they had before they left for America. It felt too forced, where before it just came naturally.
Either way I’m sad to see Dan go.

It sucks to lose a job you love, but O'Toole also became a millionaire from the gig so financially, he should be OK.
