None of this slow up and let the other player get to the puck first so you avoid any body contact,
Mcstupvid and Draisuckl were really not worried about getting hit when they had the puck. That game last night after the first was hopefully something to build off of.

Meh. I hate to be critical of these guys but his voice is so hard to listen to even doing color. I just feel he's got a terrible voice for any sort of radio or TV broadcast work.

Looking at Nurse, I don't know what Cassie was watching, he's just awful in his own end. He's completely clueless, and the dumbest decision that Tippett has made was pairing him with Barrie who's another outright disaster in his own zone.
As much as Oiler fans want to blame goaltending, and Koskinen is tremendously bad. Their defense really doesn't help when they're allowing all sorts of 5 bell chances.

Oh Oilers fans are really tired of Nurse. I was asking about him on Reddit during the game and they're tired of his constant low IQ plays
I can see why too

Different strokes for different folks I guess. For me he's got a wonderful hockey twang. Smile every time I listen to him.

I actually think Koskinen gets too much blame, at least for last night. He made enough quality saves to keep them in the game. After the first period, he was left out to dry. He had a couple scored on him that were primarily on him, but most were on good scoring chances where he didn't have support.
If Oiler fans are just going by salary-based expectations, I get why they are disappointed. But if they are realistic and consider that Koskinen is an average back-up goalie on most teams, he delivered at an appropriate level. It's not his fault Chia drove a Brinks truck up to his house.

I'll say that the Blastys looked great. Not as good as the normal kit, but a nice alternate.
Those away whites. Ohhhhh boy.

He reminds me of a higher-pitched Ed Whalen. This is not a bad thing for us geezers.
(He even says ‘malfunction at the junction’ from time to time. Damn, I still miss Ed.)

^A "higher" pitched Whalen? I think you mean lower, good sir. Nobody was more high pitched and nasal than Ed.

Cigarette companies could use that clip and that statement to make smoking cool again. ...But instead of cancer ....Smoking a mouth guard adds 19 minutes to your life Vs. a cigarette removing 7....

Wasn’t there Oilers fans claiming that they were confident in Koskinen at the start of the season and that he wasn’t far off from Markstrom level? Boy has that aged well..

Lots of talk how they dodged a bullet not signing Markstrom. Spector was smart and was adamant they make the big offer for Markstrom but Staples and many other bloggers were happy when he chose the Flames so they could get Barrie and Turris

But if Markstrom chose the Oilers, those clowns would be planning the parade

I like Loubardias, and I am not bothered at all by hockey callers and colour commenters, but his voice reminds me of Gilbert Gottfried.

The in-house narrative in Edmonton was that Kostinem finished the season with very similar numbers to Markstrom. He is just as good, and they wouldn't be surprised to see him finish better than Markstrom this year.
