Zacha is a beast. And has a laser shot too boot. Man I'd like that trade.
 |
Meh - both of those are downgrades. Zacha's undelying numbers and his isolated stats from HockeyViz are terrible, like really really bad.

And McLeod has had a good start to the year but his AHL numbers are underwhelming and he's probably not an NHLer on a different team.

I'd rather we add a pick to Bennett to try to get an upgrade.

If Rakell is available he'd be at the top of the list I think, he really would fit in well on the Right side of Gaudreau and Monahan I think.

Bennett+2nd for Rakell...that feels pretty fair.

Just had an interesting chat with.. someone.... No verification, but don't be surprised if a trade is announced AFTER the game tonight. Reason for waiting: Already enough of a distraction in the room, Bennett is liked enough by players could make the game worse than it will be...

No confirmation on this at ALL, however, the person I talk with about the Flames is generally right, so we'll see....

heck i have even suggested to friends try benny at center with johnny and monny flanking him

you understand that total ice time is irrelevant when comparing shots per 60, right

 Hilarious.

Out of one side of your mouth you talk about the elusiveness of chemistry over the course of a short-period of deployment.

Then, out of the other side of your mouth you point to several examples of players who saw immediate results in a lineup shuffle.

It is just very difficult to take you seriously.
 |
It wasn’t just a line up shuffle. It was a major trade that changed the landscapes of both situations. We traded Cory still man a sixth overall pick for Connie.

You’re framing this poorly. I have tried to answer your comments with rationale but you seem bent on making me seem unreasonable.

You suggested the audition with Johnny. I said it was fleeting. You won’t be malleable I get it.

You're doing a perfectly good job of seeming unreasonable without any help.

Bennett + a 1st for Reinhart seems like a great deal for us. I think Buffalo would want more.

Yes. Exactly. And this makes my point for me: the "chemistry" argument fails because in all of these instances it was something that occurred right away. Bennett has had time and opportunity playing with top-line players, and has never looked great, to my eye. Counter to your earlier points, he is not nearly the equivalent to a player like Monahan who was instantly dominant with Gaudreau, and who was badly missed by Gaudreau when he was injured.

I'm the one framing this poorly? Unbelievable. I think you are getting frustrated by your own feeble attempts to move the goal posts in this argument.

And you are ignoring the point that I was making with the Gaudreau piece; a point that I have already repeated, and will do so one more time: GAUDREAU HAS STRUGGLED WITHOUT MONAHAN. This has nothing to do with my malleability. It has to do with data and evidence. If you had any to bolster your ideas about Sam Bennett and Sean Monahan I would happily deal with it. But so far, there has been nothing but platitudes about "intangibles" and "chemistry."

And it would be more evidence that Monahan is better. He had better /60 numbers sustained over a much larger sample. Plus, if anyone is suggesting Bennett's muffin shot is in the same league as Monahan's shot and release, that person has lost the plot...

			Would this trade make sense?
 Bennett to FLA
 Tippett to CGY

Tippett is a RHS RW. On the taxi squad.

I would love this trade, larger right handed shot former top ten pick.

Maybe, but Tippett has not been even replacement level in his short stints in the NHL.
