He was whining that Rittich was leaning forward, though Rittich was fully in his crease and Scheifele clearly made direct contact with Rittich's head.

Pretty easy call.

Scheifele just looks like he's always about to cry, he has one of those faces. Mark Jankowski has one too.

This is a skill group, playing dump and chase is not productive for the way this forward group is built.
This is how they played last night.

Was that chip and chase?

“In terms of high danger chances five on five the Flames had 81% with a 17-4 edge, something that should propel their season averages upward. Expected goal splits fell to Calgary as well with a 75% margin. As I said, the season’s best five on five effort to date.
In all situations the Flames had 54% of the shot attempts, 69% of the high danger scoring chances and an expected goal split of 64%.“

Flames had some open nets that they just couldn't cash in on. Gotta bury one early in the 3rd

The Flames have played far worse tonight after what was a legitimate great game yesterday.

Brutal performance so far

Ward needs to shorten the bench in the third IMO

Gaudreau - Monahan - Lindholm
Tkachuk - Backlund - Mangiapane
Lucic - Bennett - Dube

Do it.

Jets will continue to allow perimeter shots all Calgary wants.
Until we start going to the tough areas and stop just taking easy perimeter shots the Jets will beat us.
Why won't we create traffic in front. Crash bang and be disciplined without the need for face washes and other BS .

Man we make it so hard on ourselves . Skate hard hit ....be first to pucks.

Which is the result of a lazy effort, no? Passes need to be crisp.

it would be pretty disappointing to end these 2 games against Winnipeg with only 2 points while giving up 3.

They have to check with Bennett first though

Obviously not. But he does coach them to circle back, pass D TO d, and move up the ice as a 5 man unit. (at least we can assume he des because they do it all the time)

That 5man attack does not work in the NHL. it is the same thing we got from Gulutzan. It sucks the life out of the offense.

When they play a high-tempo transition game, they have plenty of offense.
