Dave needs to make that save.

It was a brutal turnover...and he didn't even try to get it back. A save would be nice though.

Saving that for the 2nd intermission. Maybe some Matthews hype too.

I think the Flames knew that BSD had lost his magic (and/or was figured out by the opposition) and absolutely didn't want to play him after the break last year. Bringing in Domingue and Sparks might have indicated that they've been prepared for him not being ready to handle backup work either.
Hopefully he puts it back together but he has some glaring flaws that an NHL caliber goalie shouldn't have.

That goal is on on the players IMO.
First the giveaway by Lucic.
Then a lazy play by Backlund to not close down the player, or block the passing lane.
Then Backlund and Dube let the other Jet PKer come right down Main Street to accept the pass and score.
Dave could make that save but it’s bad all around by the PP, and I wouldn’t say that one is on Dave at all. He needs to make a big save on one of the next two though.

Tanev has been great but he was completely responsible for the second goal against. Gave away the puck at their blue line then, for some unknown reason, went to help Hanifin with puck carrier leaving the goal scorer wide open.

The worst shift of Tanev's career. It's out of his system now (hopefully).

Is it just me or should Gio no longer be on the PP at all. He just looks slow and responsive rather than quick and attacking. I'd like to see any of the of D on their for a look, Hanifin and Valimaki mostly.

I think the Flames played well that period. If they keep it up for the second and third they can come back and make this a game, but I truly think with Rittich in net, it might get out of reach.

Lucic turned the puck over in his own zone (with the man advantage) then just stood there as more jets blew by him to score
If he doesn’t get taken off the power play for that then it’s just completely incongruent messaging from this coaching staff
They benched Dube because the ref blew a call

Wait until 30+ games in, he will suddenly look like an elite C. Until the playoffs at least.

The Flames have come back every night except for the first game in Montreal. Of course they will do it again.

He may have beaten Marconi as the inventor of the telegraph. It's not good.

CGY is actually playing pretty well. Controlling zone time and playing together. Just stick with this and chip away. Lots of game left - WPG is very opportunistic and have good players so this will be a good challenge for CGY.
Shrug off the mistakes and rally boys!

True but the goalie needs to stop that...it wasn't even a good shot Rittich gave him half the net

Rittich gave away WAY too much net. I could have scored both of them.
Positioning is a huge part of goaltending. And his was brutal for both. And was pretty bad for the third one as well.
Just look at how small he looks in net. Shooters are having a field day.

Ice looks rough tonight. For both teams. Jets are just getting better bounces. In my opinion.
