Sure Markstrom had to make some nice saves, but so did Allen, plus there were some blocks and just misses on grade A chances by the Flames. The wraparound was close, Bennett had some nice drives, Leivo had a few chances, Monahan had a number from his spot that go in on a lot of nights. The Flames won their share of puck battles.

I wish we could talk about a good game with some flaws or a bad game with some redeeming qualities without the need to pick an extreme.

Markstrom was unreal but high-danger chances were 17-4 for Montreal - let's not sugarcoat that. You need your goalie to steal a few and that was one of them - let's hope they bump the slump and play better next game.

Just shutout the Habs in a gritty effort to hand them their first regulation loss and people are coming in here and complaining?

Seriously piss off. This place is unbearable when they lose and we finally get something positive happen and people still complain? Get real. I saw someone suggest we need to healthy scratch Tkachuk for God’s sake.

Some truly embarrassing takes in this thread. Just save your negativity. Nobody cares and nobody thinks it’s interesting to read.

Fun game. Good effort but sloppy. For as many bad chances as they gave up, they did a great job clearing the pucks out from around the net and preventing second chances. We needed a win, and I'll take this one, warts and all.

Anybody have a count of how many shots we missed? Do those show up in the fancy stats like high danger scoring opportunities, or is a save required?

There’s no way Calgary only had 4 high danger chances.

Don’t fight fire with fire. Post something cheerful instead to turn the tide.

Side-note: I loved the PBP tonight. Bartlett and Galley took a bit of getting used to, but they called a good game.

Happy seeing Markstrom get the shut out. Nice we actually scored an empty net lol. And Jonny keeps it going. Tkatchuk off night. Couldn’t pass if his life depended on it. Backlund not a strong game. D played great and great redemption game for Valimaki! Take the 2 points and let’s build on it. Come on Jets

I'd like to know who counted those tonight... Calgary had many wide open looks in the slot (missed the net a bunch)

Agreed, complaining (after an important win) isn't fun to read. It not a valuable contribution in any way, shape or form and it doesn't help your reputation with your fellow fans here when you do it.

Just think... if you said what you're writing here while walking out of an arena with other fans who are probably celebrating the win they'd think you're a total wet blanket and no fun to be around.

So act accordingly here and just do us a favor and save the 100% negative takes for the next loss when there's some justification.

No shutout win warrants that sort of response.

I thought Sportsnets production values were top notch and exceptionally professional for a multi billion dollar broadcasting contract. I especially commend the camera work and audio quality.

Unless a miss doesn’t count, there were a lot of chances from the slot.

I gotta say, I liked the way the lines set up tonight.

Perfect that the empty netter was a little payback with Backlund faking the shot on Gallagher before scoring.

The Flames had 33 shots on goal, this wasn't some one sided game. Great goaltending from both guys.
I kind of wanted Backs to take a full clapper at Gallagher after the butt end on the face off which started that play.

Seriously. He's given us Tkachuk, Andersson, Tanev and Markstrom. What a generous man.

In the opening one of them called Toffoli “Ryder”, as in Michael Ryder (who also wore #73 for the Habs). Ryder hasn’t played in the NHL since 2015...
