Flames play best when they dictate with their energy.
Both teams started very tentatively, then Toronto realized Calgary was just going to keep playing this "feel out the other team" hockey and decided to just go for it. We basically let them.
Good thing there's 40 minutes to right the ship.

Most UFAs are signed for one year too many when it’s 3+ years in length.

The Flames still come across as super weak mentally. If we get scored on early in a period it feels like you can guarantee the whole period is a write off.
Gaudreau is a blackhole at even strength and Tkachuk tends to play super timid following any controversy in recent history.

Our D and goalie get absolutely nothing in terms of a back check from any forwards .
This isn't new ...this has been the most consistent part of our game for years.
I swear we need a coach that bag skates our forwards till they puke and get thr message that that horse shirt effort isn't gonna keep them in the league.
Next game 3 guys need to sit and taxi squad forwards get in....but ward doesn't have the stones to do it.
