Hey, sitting on a private charter plane and taking an elevator to a quiet hotel room is serious business. Amazed they were able to even play considering how exhausting that must be for 20s and 30 year olds.

Just got back from the Dome — leaving the parking lot can be a disaster on Sunday afternoon games like this.* Pretty even game, and the Leafs got a few lucky bounces that went in. Nice ovation when they played the “Welcome back TJ Brodie” video on the jumbotron.
Leafs fans in the building were insufferable as usual — looks like they had the heroin beer flowing early for the 2:00 start. Didn’t even notice the Flames were wearing their “old” uniforms until they announced the Fan Attic gameday special was 50% off the flag jerseys. Almost picked up a Dube but decided against it once I saw the lineup at the till.
* - details may have been dramatized... what, you’d rather read about how bad Lucic was?

- pretty solid effort for the rusty Flames
- some bad bounces did them in on gaining two points
- top two lines rolling
- third D pairing dominant
- best version of Noah Hanifin we've seen?

Lucic is a veteran so seems Ward wants to let him work things out on the ice.
Have to wonder if a couple of healthy scratches and more practices will yield a better Lucic in games. He doesn’t have to go on the taxi squad to be scratched but the Flames could also ask him to waive since there is zero chance of being claimed.

Someone needs to explain to me the face-off. Why did we consistently get kicked out? Looked like even when a Leaf would move first or rush into the dot before the puck was dropped we would get kicked out? Backlund looked rather frustrated at one point. Linesman from Ontario?

Steve Dangle is a joke but he jumped on the bandwagon and it’s exploded. Kind of hilarious. One guy just told me “it was a clear knee to the head”.

Craziest part is Lucic hasn’t been that bad away from Nordstrom (part of that is he was okay against the Canucks; and a giveaway machine against Winnipeg and Toronto) but when they are on the ice together it’s a disaster.

I'm sorry, I know most people love this kid, but I've had enough of Bennet. He is so useless out there. He does nothing to move the needle on this team. He needs to sit in favor of another young kid.
That fourth line is killing us. If they are on the ice, we are hemmed in our zone.
Otherwise I thought the team looked good but had unlucky bounces. Markstrom is so calm out there.
Our forwards were unlucky but It didn't help that every shot hit their goalie dead center of his chest.
