Long term? Who knows...depends on how much success the team has or doesnt have.
I will say I would really like to see him away from Gaudreau for a stretch...he just defers to him too often.

Agreed.
You're free to take a chance now and then if you have a good goalie. I remember the Kipper days fondly just for that reason alone.

Agreed. Confidence in your goaltender can do wonders for a team. Flames haven't had that in a long time.
