Hoglander does look legit, but I wonder how much of that is actually him being good at hockey and how much of it is him actually having played pro games for a couple months in Sweden before this. Could be misleading. Might have a hot start and then cool off.

Horvat had the puck behind the Oilers net with the lead and less than 2 mins left in the period...blind spin o rama pass and McDavid has a break away
Flames need to be smart when McDavid is on the ice, all the Oilers get is what is handed to him on a silver platter (PP, rush, break away)

Well Leivo was brought in because he brings size as well as skill and Nordstrom is a bottom 6 pk specialist. Out of those 3 Simone is really the only guy Phillips might be competing with for a spot.

You cannot understate how big of an advantage it is for him. A lot of guys in every game I've watched so far have looked a bit shaky, a bit slow to react and not quite sharp. Hoglander does not have that doziness.
