Might be a good idea to reach out to the Vatican and see if they can borrow the backup Bulletproof Popemobile.

I'm more worried about what happens if they don't.
If I were a hard-core Trumper the lesson I'd take from the 6th is that the police are weak, may even be sympathetic, but that more force and organization will be needed to take the Capitol again. I would also think that taking state Capitols may be easier, if only for logistical reasons.
So, that's where I'd put my focus, confident at least that with enough numbers either goal is attainable.
The police had better be ready this time, including having overwhelming and lethal force at their disposal.

If they use lethal force on citizens, they've become no better than the countries they deride and look down on. They become one of those countries.
Things will change.
I hope they do not.
But it might be inevitable.

Have the bikers been involved with these plots? I did not notice them specifically, but they generally support Trump.

There's a difference between reporting on the activities of a leader and literally transcribing their verbal diarrhea.

That’s how he talks. You can’t report on him without offering some quotes... just paraphrase everything? That’s what you want our press doing?
He’s denying responsibility and that’s the report. It’s not anyone else’s fault that he speaks like a 6 year old.

If they don't maintain control, they're not a government. This is not a civil war between two armies (yet). They're a government dealing with a group of insurrectionists/criminals. They should treat them just as they would other criminals IMO, including through the use of lethal force if need be, just as police in the US do daily in other contexts. Being overrun is completely unacceptable.
I agree though that the optics would be bad either way, and the full consequences hard to know.

If the crazies really go crazy, it won't necessarily just be bullets that need to be worried about in the US. Some nut job could show up with a grenade launcher, or drive a tank off their ranch and head for the state legislature. If all the weird #### tucked away in dark corners of the US decides this is the time to come out into the light, it could be truly surreal. I don't expect that and hope it doesn't happen, but in a place like the US it's not 100% out of the realm of possibility.

Maybe gun reform will finally be on the table down there.

Sounds more like a normal day in Texas actually.
1.2 million Texans have concealed carry permits, and apparently there are no laws restricting gun ownership, with 30 guns per capita. It’s probably safe to assume that a Texan in Texas is armed.

Sorry man, I have to disagree. At the very least. America isn’t extrajudicially killing people who may or may not have been involved. They’re not state sanctioning murder of journalists calling them out.
America is a hell of a lot of things, but it’s disingenuous to put them on the same platform as some of the nations western nations mutually disagree with.

Yeah, I don't think there are almost a billion guns in Texas...
Especially considering that's twice the total number of guns in the US.
