And the silent "majority" who believes these two groups deserve mention in the same breath, both radical, both terrible, both somehow equal, well, they're idiots too.
It doesn't take much intelligent thought to see the difference, it's a matter of nuance. Whether being able to see the nuance in the cause, the nuance in the result, the nuance in the police response, or the nuance in the targets. If one can't see the differences, they are a blind idiot.
It's one thing to believe all riots are bad. It's another to believe that any single day, any single action, or the validity of single cause in the BLM protests is equal to this, right now. What an ignorant way to view the world.
If people can look at these things, take one similar thread that runs through them, and call them equal? Might as well close up shop. There's nothing of value coming from a mind like that. Better off talking to your dog.

Yesterday I said I hoped that nothing would happen. I even posted that and did the typical CaptainCrunch arrogance thing, I didn't believe anything would happen beyond a group of protestors chanting and waving signs.
Frack I was completely wrong about everything here. This is disturbing and gross and heartbreaking and its hard to believe that I'm watching a democratic nation disintegrating in front of my eyes.
Part of me believes that the act of healing this nation is the work of generations, and not a quick fix.
I'm disgusted that I'm watching this unfold.

I tend to think these people are getting mentioned in the same breath because of the weird intersection between citizen journalism, social media technology, and society's seemingly insatiable addiction to rubbernecking drama. This trifecta has enabled the voices of once-marginalized and obscured extremists. And extremists bring drama - something major networks and online streaming services can't stop falling over each other to be the first to show it.

What are they going to do? They are outnumbered severely and are probably all scared to death. If they don't go along with it they will probably end up dead or in the hospital based on the loonatics they are dealing with here.

The barriers seemed to be working fine until they were opened.
At the very least, if the police felt afraid and helpless, they could have backed down and the terrorists could have opened it themselves. The officers actually physically helped them break the law. That is above and beyond.
It's no different than when mass looting happens. Sometimes the police have no choice but to stand back and observe. But you don't see them go and hold the doors open for them.
